The location is beautiful, amenities are excellent but it Rick's superb hosting that puts it over the top. It is an intimate setting to relax, enjoy the surroundings or launch point from which paradise. Thanks, Rick. Genevieve

Rick has the most beautiful estate in a very cool part of the world. My hubby and I had a lovely and relaxing time at this great getaway in Playa del Coco. Rick is the perfect host - full of great stories and a real love for what he does. Plus, he knows everything about the area and the locals....

We have just returned from a week at Rancho Armadillo. We booked after reading all the great reviews on tripadvisor and they were all true. We had a fantastic time and Rick truly is the best host. Great food and service. Best view in Playa Del Coco and it was also away from the hussle and bustle of town but...

We stayed at Rancho Armadillo over the Christmas holidays with our two teenage sons. The rooms, resort grounds and public areas were very nice. The host, Rick is a great source of information and guidance regarding things to do and see, along with things not to bother with. Costa Rica is a small country, so it is easy to get...

Rancho Armadillo is a collection of spacious houses generously spread out over the estate. It's just outside of Playas del Coco. Just far enough to let you enjoy the peace and quiet but also close enough to get you to the shops with a five minute drive. We stayed in the Shark Room which had a large king sized bed...

My fiance and I spent 9 days staying at Rancho Armadillo and would highly recommend it. Rick was a wonderful "host," providing us with very helpful information and recommendations on what to do (and what not to do!) during our stay. He went out of his way making us reservations at any restaurants of our choice, and his breakfasts were...

Absolutely couldn't have had a better experience. Title line above says it all. Would only add that Rick was a fountainhead of local knowledge and anecdotes about life in his part of Costa Rica. Would absolutely visit again and recommend unhesitatingly to any friend.

You can read the other reviews about general stuff. We are experienced travellers. If you are flying into Liberia Airport and arriving at night, you can safely get to Rancho Armadillo in about a half hour. All roads are paved. It is really easy. In terms of the directions, if you arrive at night, follow them the directions that have...

Myself and my girlfriend returned to Rancho Armadillo for our second visit to this Guanacaste hotel/resort. Nothing much had changed in the last 2 ½ years. And that’s a good thing, because Rancho Armadillo feels just like coming home to a good and helpful friend, Rick Vogel. A friend who has the coolest house; with a beautiful ocean view, cozy...

We were at Rancho Armadillo with a small group for a week, with our wedding smack in the middle. Rick helped us arrange everything via email, graciously answered hundreds of questions from our guests prior to arrival, and took care of every detail from arranging for a notary public to rose petals strewn in the pool. The property is beyond...
