Keen to escape the cold damp British weather we decided to escape to Costa Rica. After much searching on TripAdvisor we came across all the positive reviews for Rancho Armadillo and decided to give it a try. It certainly lived up to and exceeded our expectations and we spent two glorious weeks just relaxing at 'Rick's Place'. If you are...

We have wanted to travel to Costa Rica for awhile, and found the Rancho Armadillo through Tripadvisor. I can't say enough good about it! It truly was paradise. The themed rooms were clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. The tropical rain shower was perfect. Breakfasts are huge and well prepared with local fruit and juices. We found ourselves spending time around...

This place Rancho Armadillo was a home away from home on our vacation. Rick was very helpful and we could not have had a better vacation without staying here. He gave us such good advice to maximize our vacation. Thank you Rick for taking good care of us! We have very good memories of this vacation. Please save our hammock...

Just got back from a 6 night stay at Rancho Armadillo and loved every minute of it! From the location, to the host Rick Vogel, everything about this place is top notch! Rick's property is set off from the main strip of Coco and provides some incredible views. The rooms are very nice, and if you need help with anything...

As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and very lucky to have stumbled upon Rancho Armadillo and all its inhabitants, most namely Rick. Annual I take a trip to someplace far and away, taking into account my safety but not wanting to give up any fun and adventure. I felt very at home at Rancho Armadillo. It's a...

If you want to visit a country for the first time, find someone that loves that country to show you. Preferably a terrific guide and host that owns a paradise on a mountainside overlooking the Pacific! Our family, two kids ages 7 and 9, visited in August after many emails with the owner, Rick, to help plan our trip (who...

We have stayed at Rancho Armadillo many times over the past four years and our stay has always been incredible. The hotel is only minutes from the beach with a terrific ocean view. Watching sunset from the pool is our favorite place in town. All the benefits of Playa del Coco are just a few minutes away, but you can...

We spent a week in Costa Rica and this was our second stop after spending 3 nights at Arenal Nayara. Rick and his place were both very nice. Playa del Coco was just not the place for us. We were not very impressed with the beaches there and simply did not like the area. We were scheduled to stay for...

Once again myself and my girlfriend arrive at our new destination at night but luckily have no problem finding our Rancho Armadillo. Here and in the surrounding countryside of Guanacaste, we spent a blissful four nights. The Ranch, with its pool, countless birds, lizards, semi-tame Coati “Twitchy,” and native stone statues provides many happy times. Rick, the owner, proves to...

Everything about the trip, starting a couple months in advance with our communications back and forth with Rick, the owner, was outstanding. Rick pointed us to excellent attractions at the best times so many times we were the only people there. Seeing a beautiful waterfall, with your wife and the lizards the only other creatures there, was just one of...
