This hostel is in a great location, has a very well equipped kitchen (especially compared to most other hostels in CR), it's very clean, has a nice garden to relax in, and the owners are super friendly. Most importantly, it's the best value for money you will get in this area. I have recommended to other travelers already. Stay here!

I had a great stay here. Its a humble place compared to other more flashy backpacking hostels in CR, but it was really great. The owners and staff were very friendly. There's a nice garden in the back where we had a nice time chatting with other travelers. The rooms were clean. Can't beat the price! Solid stay for a...

We were in a pinch and could not figure out how to get to our hotel near Rincon de la Vieja. (There was some miscommunication with the hotel.) Jesus at the front desk helped us out and we were able to find transport to our hotel. Now I wish I stayed here at Dodero because of how kindly I was...

I made a phone reservation the night before. I arrived in Liberia at about 7:30pm and it was pretty dark. The location is about 4 blocks away from the bus station. It was a bit sketchy in the nighttime, but I was fine. The space is beautiful. The bathrooms are very clean and the outdoor shower is large. The cooking...

Easy to get to from the bus, and safe and clean. Stayed there after we landed and again before we went home and had no trouble at all. There was a good map of how to get to Llanos de Cortes waterfall and a bus schedule that was helpful.

We stayed here for our first 2 nights in Costa Rica. It's a clean and comfortable hostel where we slept well and enjoyed chatting to other travellers in the shared kitchen and garden area. Shawn and Jesus are great hosts who will help you with any plans you have in the area and with your onward travel plans. We highly...

very comfortable and clean rooms. The staff were friendly and the hostel was in a very convenient position. For a longer stay I would like the kitchen to be better equipped and cleaner. Ver good price.

We only stayed here for one night, but we really liked it. The hostel is very clean and safe. Close to the bus terminal. The beds are comfortable. Jesus, the owner, is extremely nice and went out of his way to help us rent the car we needed. He had all the information about the companies and helped us call...

We stayed at this hostel the last day of our trip because we wanted to be close to the airport. It was close to the bus stop and easy to get to, but it was a little weird. We were checked in by Jesus, and although he is excellent at painting murals, he was kind of uncomfortable to talk to,...

Thank you for writing a review. We apologize that you felt you did not receive an adequate welcome. In seems quite out of a character for any of the staff but occasionally "uncomfortable" conversations occur cross-culturally. As for ringing in and out of the hostel, it's a matter of security and keeping prices low for backpackers. We would not be...

Centrally located, cab driver knew where it was so didn't need to have to explain anything. Clean room, bed was comfortable, owners were very nice and grounds felt very secure as entrance was controlled by a buzzer. I would stay there again, definitely a great value for the money.
