Stay here. You won't be disappointed. Our group of four stayed at Finca Canas Castilla for four nights out of a ten day trip. Agi, the owner, was helpful right from the start with my booking. We booked two adjacent bungalows, one complete with a kitchenette with a stove, an oven, a mini fridge, dishes and pots and pans, a...

This family run lodge is located on the Sapoa River, about 6 Km north of La Cruz, Guanacaste. They have about 6 casitas along the river, surrounded by forest and lush tropical plantings. Each casita has two separate suites, which can sleep up to four people. The rooms are clean and brightly decorated and fan cooled. I think AC was...

What a find! Fincas Canas Castilla (FCC) manages to get all the good about staying in nature with none of the bad. FCC is easy to get to. It's only a few minutes off the main highway with a sign marked at the turnoff. There's minimal driving on a maintained gravel road to reach your location. The hosts are very...

Visited the hotel to see the two toed sloths! :-) We were able to see a baby and an adult one! Didn't stay overnight but the place looked very nice and quiet! And the owner, a Swiss woman, is really friendly!

We wanted a place for a night, to attend a MTB event on the coast. Although approx 23km away from where we needed to be, the drive was worth it. Spacious cabin, excellent welcome by the Swiss owners, good dinner and breakfast. My wife was on a medical diet, but they went out of their way to accommodate her requests....

If you travel in Costa Rica you need to stay some nights in Cañas Castilla. It's located in the middle of the forrest with lots of trees and that means lots of animals too. In the river directly in front of the bungalows you can see a crocodile, there are monkeys really near and so on. There are trails through...

Stayed at Canas Castilla in March, 2015 on our way from Costa Rica to Nicaragua (we are a family of 6...mom/dad and four kids ages 12, 11, 9 and 6). To be honest, we picked it simply based on location (a good place to stopover near the border) but we ended up THRILLED with the choice. Agi and Guido are...

This place is magical. You can paddle a little boat around the creek to view the crocodile on the rock. You can hike the hills and see hundreds of Spider Monkeys, Howler Monkeys and Sloths. Or you can take the trails horseback riding and enjoy the cool shade under the Guanacaste trees. There is a refreshing swimming hole nearby to...

Spent 2 nights here early March 2015. Easy to find thanks to very helpful instructions from our hostess, Agi Sutter. Situated in lush vegetation alongside a river (with its own "family" crocodile!), we had 2 adjacent houses, each with 2 bedrooms and a lovely terrace with a hammock and a rocking chair. Very quiet. Food (whatever the kitchen was preparing)...

I recently stayed at Canas Castilla and was not disappointed, the property is owned by Swiss couple Agi und Guido who are very nice people, Canas Castilla is basically a farm that Agi and Guido have built bungalows on, there are walks around the property that they have been marked out for degree of difficulty, a map of the walks...
