We had 2 rooms and both were clean and situated so you were in a cool nature setting. The rooms had nice patios with a hammock and tables and chairs. We played cards on the patio since it was raining (nice jungle views). The rooms were spacious and we didn't use the a/c. Very nice host/owner who was very accommodating.... More

I enjoyed two days at this lovely farm not far from the border after exiting Nicaragua. The setting was beautiful next to the Sapoa River and the caretakers are the nicest people. We saw spider monkeys and heard the howler monkeys.Lots of birds and gorgeous gardens and with heavy hearts we had to leave because of our travel schedule. This is a... More

We stayed at Finca Canas Castilla (FCC) for one night before crossing the border from Costa Rica into Nicaragua. The farm is located approximately 10-15 minutes south of the main border crossing at Penas Blancas. While it's a short ride away the farm might as well be in a different world. Set back in a glade about 5 minutes the... More

Very quiet place. The trails nearby offer a change to sight a lot of monkeys, birds and beautiful views. The owner of the place and family are very nice and helpful. Nice for 2 to 3 nights. Good Breakfast with home made bread. We waited to complete our one month trip before writing this review, so that we could compare... More

We mainly stayed here in order to be close to the Nica border to pick our daughter up in the morning at the border. The finca is just a couple of kilometers off the Pan Am highway (partially paved, partially gravel roads) and is a relatively short drive to the border. Cabins were comfy with fridge, fans, and screened windows.... More

We love the kind service the owners gave us. I slept so good after a long drive there. We stay short because we had to go next morning to pick up a friend at the border with Nicaragua but from there you could visit Bahía Salinas and go hikking around. The cabins are simple but good, they all have a... More

This Finca is a rare find. The location is beautiful with so many birds and animals to see and hear in the grounds. The river bank is a lovely place to sit and relax and watch the wildlife including the crocodile! The food is homemade by Agi and delicious. We met some of the other lovely guests while we were... Where to begin. Agi and guido are the sweetest. They both are so kind and attentive, agi is an amazing cook and they are so generous with their breakfast and dinners. The cabins have their own seating areas with hammocks. You are surrounded by peaceful nature and hilarious monkeys and sleepy sloths and other amazing wild life. We cannot wait... More

It was our Highlight in Costa Rica, After 4 weeks in that nice country. We have seen many animals, but at the finca we have seen so many as no where else. Even in the national parks are not so many as at that farm. Normally we would stay just a day ending up with 3 nights. Good food as... More
