I give this an excellent rating for superior service, food, and accomodations and would absolutely recommend this to fellow solo travelers, families or other groups. Please note that the 5-dots on trip advisor doesn't mean it's a 5-star hotel. It's set into the jungle-like background that looks upon the Arenal volcano and rustic-chic, the sounds of the jungle are all...

We stayed in Lost Iguana hotel between July 13 and 16, 2012. The hotel was very quiet and relaxing. The view from the porch of our room was beautiful, there were lots of plants and birds to see. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. We were touched when the hotel staff greeted our daughter with her 10th Birthday. They...

This is the perfect place to stay. We didn't want a "franchise/corporate" type hotel. When you think of a tropical hotel, this is it! Natural paths throughout the resort, beautiful open air lobby, big balcony w/ rocking chairs, hot tub on balcony, be sure to get a room w/ the outdoor shower. Pool, bar, restaurant all good and very nice...

We were just at lost iguana for a week w two boys. We had a great experience. Staff friendly. Food terrific. Fabulous views. But it is in the middle of jungle and far from la fortuna. Highly recommend getting picked up at airport. Ask for Jose from the car service recommended by hotel. He was full of info about the...

This is my first ever review for Trip Advisor. Our family recently spent 11 days in Costa Rica in three terrific properties, and since I found TA so helpful, I find it only appropriate that I write a quick review for one the finest spots my family has ever stayed! Thanks to Groupon, we were able to secure a one...

Words can't describe how incredibly beautiful this resort is! We paid a little extra for a volcano view, and it was worth it! We spent a lot of time sitting on the large porch overlooking the rain forest with the clouds circling the volcano in the background. Breathtaking and relaxing all at once. We have traveled the world and never...

The Lost Iguana... How beautiful and magica! I was spoiled and was bought the Romance Package by my love for our stay. First off the room welcomed us with fresh flowers and king sized bed looking through full glass at the volcano. Our room opened up to a balcony with a beautiful view of the volcano too with relaxing rocking...

What a beautiful place to spend a few days with my family of four (children 8 & 11). The rooms and their views are awesome. It's very close to the Hanging Bridges and if you stay be sure to do this hike. They will drive you there in a golf cart. Otherwise it is far from the town and other...

I booked the hotel directly through their website. They had a "Romance Package" special that was nearly the same price as the quote I got on Travelocity. With that package, we got a candlelit dinner, couples massage, and welcome flowers and wine. We were traveling without our 4 children so I was excited for a bit of a treat! The...

We chose this whilst on a multi stop tour of Costa Rica that we planned ourselves. It was the green season and kindly were upgraded to a room overlooking a pond with a jungle shower and jacuzzi on the veranda! What a fabulous hotel with fantastic staff and a great restaurant. Highly recommended is the cream of palm heart soup!...
