For our last night in Costa Rica we were booked into The Volcan Turrialba Lodge. Driving from the town in the valley up to the lodge on a tortuous unpaved road took about 40 minutes. I visited this place with my husband for his bday. The view is absolutely beautiful and there is a small farm that will catch your eye for sure. However, the road is 4x4 only, there aren't any restaurant, convenience stores or supermarkets near the place. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but it is expensive for what they served...
