Of our three Costa Rica birding destinations, Rancho Naturalista was our favorite. The service was warm, friendly and absolutely outstanding throughout our stay. The ranch-chic lodge, spacious rooms and landscaped property are a destination in themselves; but we went for the birds. Bird feeders and hummingbird feeders provided a constant source of entertainment. Well-maintained trails provided access to the forest...

Thank you for taking the time to give us a nice review. We are amazed that out of 3 Costa Rica birding destinations, Rancho Naturalista was your favorite. Love this place. Awesome setting, awesome birds, awesome staff, awesome food. We were lucky as we had the place to ourselves and personal attention but this was the best place we stayed in Costa Rica. And we saw Snowcap within minutes of arriving!

We enjoyed our stay at Rancho greatly. Lisa is a wonderful host, and Meghan Edwards, the volunteer currently there, is a real winner. The rain was dampening, but we still saw a lot and got a lot of great photos. It's good that you have that covered balcony with all the feeders, as that produces a wonderful situation for birders...
