Nothing fancy but the setting could not be more beautiful. Staff was friendly, good breakfast. The hot tub broke down but we enjoyed the pool The room had a great view and the outdoor areas hammocks and seating so you can really enjoy it

Really lovely hotel surrounded by countryside and banana plantations. You really need transportation of your own as it is quite isolated. The restaurant is very nice though you need to order when you arrive to ensure prompt service. The rooms are very large and decorated in a modern style.

We thought our driver might be lost - surely there couldn't be a hotel down this little road? Sugar cane fields on both sides and no sign of habitation. Then we arrived at this lovely small hotel. We were very warmly welcomed and shown to our room, which was clean, quiet and comfortable. On learning that I was a vegetarian...

When you are driving through tall sugar cane fields, away from town, you wonder how a hotel would be out there; and then suddenly you arrive to this magnificent setting! This was a VERY nice place to stay, and we would have liked to have spent more time here. The staff was wonderful, the food was top-notch, and the room...

Hotel Villa Florencia. I think the owner was away within our stay, but he certainly makes great staffing choices allowing his break. The natural beauty, sounds and wildlife within the lodge triggers a euphoric feeling of being. They've somehow perfected the comfort and integration of their guests, without disturbing the balance. Felt compelled to acknowledge 'Fernanda' of Hotel Villa Florencia....

Arrive alone on a quiet day and you'll find the staff is as ready for you as they would be for a group of VIPs. Between Gustavo, Jonathan and Fernanda, I honestly felt like I was at home. When my bathroom light went out, Jonathan knocked on my door with a lightbulb and a chair for him to stand on...

We stayed at Hotel Villa Florencia for two nights during a 10 day trip in Costa Rica with our teens. We had two rooms (20 & 21), and both were very large with two beds and plenty of space. Balconies over looking the garden/jungle. The pool was not operating while we were there, but I guess it has to be...

I stayed here for one night as part of an organised group tour and the difference between the room we were given and the new rooms available was stark, old, dark and hot especially as our room didn't have a working fan! Eventually we were offered a different room for the night which was appreciated but only have great hand...
