This was one of my favorite spots. The German couple who own it are welcoming and gracious and the staff is top notch. Our room was perfect, a welcome haven after some of the other spots in Costa Rica. Be sure to have breakfast there. It was one of the best meals I've had. I can't recommend this place enough.... Only stayed for one night on a tour with Bike Arenal. We greatly enjoyed the accommodations and the German staff. Breakfast was a standout both for the view and the delicious egg skillets. Also don't miss evening sweets.

A small hotel, managed by its owners. Has a good location (it's beside the Thermal pools and 3 blocks away from the ancient colonia church), great service, excellent food and a great gift shop (they sell there many of the delicious coffee, chocolates and jellys you will be served during breakfast). Avoid the suite, as it's beside the street and... More

We made this quick one night stop on the way to the Caribbean side. It was a great little town and perfect for a few day stop. The owners are very nice and really care about their guests. We plan to come back for a two to three night stop next time.

I was made to feel very welcome from the moment I arrived. This hotel is excellent and the owners were very kind to a solo traveller; inviting me for dinner, providing a map and explained key locations, helped to organise tours and made a delicious breakfast! The balcony is a wonderful place to watch the valley change with the weather... More

Much thought, experience and probably passion and love has is put into making a stay here quite a refined experience. Obviously the owners love the country. Do at least... More

This is a very nice hotel well located allowing to have access to the Irazu volcan and to the Orosi valley. The coffee area at the entrance is very nice and perfect for having breakfast. Rooms are comfortable, well equipped and the hotel is managed by a friendly German family. Good accommodation for visiting the area!

We spent three nights here after our son's wedding in Manuel Antonio. The Lodge is simple but clean, roomy, extremely friendly, and totally welcoming. The pricing is low for what the lodger receives. We were very pleased by the hearty breakfasts and option to have the host pack a take-away lunch for day trips. While there is not much in... More
