We stayed at the Tree Houses for our third time and hope to return in the future. Nothing compares to sleeping and showering up in the trees. For a relatively small property, with houses close to the road, there is a surprisingly predictable collection of wildlife, We have always been visited by howler monkeys and seen sloths here. There are...

Top to bottom an excellent property with thoughtfully chosen tours. Our tree house was beautiful and very modern. At 6:30 am, they bring a plantain for the birds and Costa Rica coffee for enjoying on the deck 20 feet off the ground. On the grounds themselves, we saw a sloth and baby, our only green tree frog of the entire...

This place was amazing. We would recommend it to anyone and we have. From the booking process (my emails were responded to within minutes), to transportation with Oscar and our day long tour with Juan Carlos everything was perfect. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Staying here was the highlight of our 9 days in Costa Rica.

Our favourite part of our stay at Tree Houses was the Chocolate Making Workshop by Two Little Monkeys Costa Rican Craft Chocolate - 5 stars for the workshop! ***** Ismael's passion for chocolate made the workshop such a memorable experience for us. We learned a ton of history and about hands-on chocolate making through the ages, what the difference is...

This review won't be long because other people have already said it very well. My wife and I have travelled the world--Europe, Africa, Asia--and this is one of the BEST travel experiences of our lives. Outstanding facilities--thoughtfully built and well-maintained; warm, excellent management and staff; great breakfasts each day; access to lots of on-site and off-site activities. Lots of appreciation...

We had such a great time here. Mark and Lucy were so helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the Monkey tree house and had a large family of monkeys hanging out near us while we enjoyed the coffee and tea that was dropped off at our door every morning. Will definitely be staying here again!

We spent three nights at Tree Houses. As others have stated, I wished we'd stayed longer. The accomodations are truly unique and beautiful. The hosts, well there aren't words enough to express how wonderful and accomodating they really are. The included breakfast was phenomenal each day, we all enjoyed. We did the night walk with the security guard and it...

We are so pleased that you all enjoyed your time, Leeanne. We are fortunate to have Rolando and Efren guiding people through the rain forest at night, and it is a highlight of people's stay seeing what moves around in the dark. Thank you so much for coming to stay with us and we hope to see you all down...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
