We visited the Cataratas Resort as part of a combo day trip out of San Jose. We enjoyed the waterfalls, lunch in the restaurant, and all the wildlife habitats. Our only complaint was that we couldn't spend nearly as much time as we wanted to. Will definitely go back and stay on the property next time!

Our one night stay at this hotel was nice enough. The property is pretty unique with tree sculptures & a really cool hibiscus maze at the bottom right near the river. The rooms are rustic but comfortable & the staff was very attentive.

Sorry but there is absolutely NOTHING possitive about this place that I can write, had to spend a couple of nights and felt I was in San Lucas prision... customer service is something you should not expetc, hotel manager wants to run the place her own way and does not care about customer's satisfaction. There is a swimming pool but...

We traveled with a tour group so we were stuck there for two nights. Service is nonexistent. They won't even show you where your room is. The place looks nice from the outside but the rooms are so disgusting. Mold on the ceilings. No hot water. Bugs. No towel given to dry your hands in the bathroom. Holes in the...

Run away from this place - fast! We stayed here two nights while on an EF Tour (therefore did not book ourselves). There is nothing that I can say that is positive. No hot water, lizard poop in beds in morning, no maid service, impossible to get service (fresh towels, reception, etc). There is wifi but only in the common...

I stayed here with a friend in July 2008. The hotel was beautiful and the restaurant was fantastic. We got here easily in a cab from the bus station and all of the tours we took picked us up from the hotel. It is easy to get to the volcano, rainforest, and waterfall from this hotel. The landscaping around the...

In my opinion, the best thing about Cataratas Resort is their website. We booked two rooms in the hotel directly with our friends from their website which makes this place look fabulous. After seeing the property, we all agreed that this hotel is a "use to be". They make it sound like the waterfall is just a hop, skip and...

After reading the reviews, we were reluctant to book this hotel but it was one of the only ones available during peak high season. Contrary to other reviews, the hotel is not hard to get to. You have to drive down an unpaved road for a while but as long as you pay attention to signs and maybe stop and...
