If you consider yourself a water-baby: someone who couldn't resist puddles and streams as a kid, someone who loves floating in water, splashing in water, playing in water, soaking in water, then Tabacon Hot Springs is heaven on Earth. Not so good for those who love to swim laps, as the hot springs aren't lanes. I'd say the hotel is...

Our family (myself, wife, and two kids, 12 and 8) stayed here for 2 nights in April in one of the Tabacon Suites. The suites were constructed about 3 years ago, so they are fairly new and well maintained. The room was beautiful and huge, though it was one big room even though they could easily make it into a...

This hotel, repped by Leading Hotels of the World is so lovely. The springs themselves are incredible, although can get crowded with day guests, There are springs that they reserve as adult only and have little bars set up, as well as areas with seating and lounging so you can avoid the families. They are the only hotel that has...

Very mixed feelings about our experience. On the plus side, the springs are absolutely fantastic and a wonderful experience. Heavenly. The springs are well designed, built and maintained and there is something for everyone--from extremely hot and with waterfalls to family-friendly and warm. Service was also good. Front desk staff solicitous and every employee we passed was courteous. We had...

My husband, my 7 year old daughter and I spent two days at Tabacon. I would not recommend the hotel for families with small children. The rooms at the resort were average, at best, but we were rarely in our room, except to sleep. The highlight of the resort was the spa and the hot springs. The spa was out of this world. We stayed here for three days during our recent travels in Costa Rica. Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Hello! My boyfriend and I are traveling to Tabacon in a few weeks! We are a couple in our late twenty's/early thirty's and this will be our first big trip together out of the country... I've tried to do a lot of research but I still have a few questions! Please help and be specific if you can! :)

We booked a private van to the hotel from the airport - but what about once we're there? I've seen a few posts about $1-$2 taxi rides about 10 minutes away into the town of La Fortuna, but I've also seen some people say it cost them $20 to get to La Fortuna.

1. How much should we expect to pay for a taxi from Tabacon into the town of La Fortuna? (or other nearby areas with restaurants)

2. How did you book these quick taxi rides?

When I travel, I am the adventurous type - I love to experience the culture of the area. I am terrified of heights but am still open to zip lining, hiking, etc. I also want to see as many animals and creatures as possible, and I love to photograph! On the other hand, my boyfriend is not as adventurous and would love to experience the culture but in a more relaxed way.

3. What are the best adventurous excursions/tours that you've been on, and how do you book them?

4. What are the most beautiful & relaxing tours that you've been on, and how do you book them?

5. Has anyone been to Extremo Ziplining? I've heard it's the best.

I've read numerous posts about how the food at the Tabacon isn't worth the money... which is fine because I would rather experience the culture anyways.

6. Where have you traveled for food and beverages that you would recommend us to go - and how did you get there?

Lastly, we only have 5 days here and our first and last day are wasted, due to the amount of travel time. (So really only 3 days)

7. What are the top things you recommend for us to do here, besides the springs?

Thanks in advance!!
