The lodge offers rooms with unsurpassed views of the volcanic mountain, and it was a very unique experience to watch this landscape giant up close and personal at different times of the day, cloudy, smoggy and clear. Great fun and amazing experience! The grounds are exceptionally maintained and beautiful, with birds and animals galore sharing the habitat with you. Our...

We stayed here for our 25th anniversary first week in May. Picked this place after research and using trip advisor. What an amazing place. Remote and as up close to nature and the volcano as you can get. We have seen everything on our wish list on the property except a sloth. (Which we saw nearby). We woke up our...

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young kids) stayed at the Arenal Observatory Lodge in early April. After our jeep-boat-jeep transfer from Monteverde, we took a bumpy road through beautiful wet rainforest to get to the lodge. We were amazed by the whole experience of getting there, as it was definitely like going through an adventure scene in...

Stayed here in April. This was our second time staying at the lodge. The views of the volcano were amazing. The rooms were immaculate. The restaurant provides a wonderful breakfast. There is a deck just at the foot of the volcano. The desk staff went out of the their way to help us explore the area and other parts of...

The hotel was really nice and just steps from Arenal! The hiking trails around the hotel were really nice and well kept. There were also lots of animals (birds, monkeys, cotis). The pool was spotless and the rest of the grounds were really nice too. The hotel is a bit secluded from la fortuna, but it is a short drive...

We really enjoyed hiking around this place. Wonderful views everywhere and a birders paradise. Make sure you visit the lounge/restaurant; views galore from Lake Arenal to the Arenal volcano. They feed the birds here so there is always a good bird show going on. Good food, not great but staff were very nice.

The setting is perfect. The views spectacular. The staff is friendly, informative and efficient. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. We had one with a great view of the Lake and a lovely garden full of birds outside our balcony. There is great hiking and easy walking in the lodge property itself. The meals at their restaurant are delicious too!

I loved arenal observatory lodge. It is so unique and I loved the old fashioned one of a kind historical feeling the lodge brought forth. There is a unique vibrational energy and aura to this property. The horse back ride to the waterfall in the light rain was breathtaking, and is a treasured moment I hold in the book of...

What a great hotel - we thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here and were so glad to have picked to stay here instead of in La Fortuna.
