Hotel Lavas del Arenal was the hotel associated with the Groupon we purchased for a 7 night stay. The deal was $1800 and included lodging, 5 days of activities, all transfers to and from the activities and to and from the airport, daily breakfast and lunch - all for 2 people! This was an amazing adventure that included zip lining,...

We knew nothing about Costa Rica, but booked a trip thru Groupon which turned out to be an awesome package with this hotel. They were easy to work with, even when our flight cancelled and our start date delayed a day. We had a private pick up from the airport - and since its a 3 hour drive over very...

This location is away from the main city and in touch with all nature. You go through a bumpy road to reach this resort. When we arrived , an amazing soul greeted us Cathya who was available for assistance the entire trip. The included morning breakfast made from natural ingredients and lunch or dinner depending on the staff there. They...

Hotel Lavas Del Arenal is tucked away in the middle of trees, down a dirt road, and away from the chaos of the city. It's about as authentic as it gets. There was a bit of a language barrier but with the help of our google translate app we got along just fine. They have a tiny restaurant in the...

We did an adventure tour through Groupon and so we had no selection for the hotel but were so pleased with this place. The staff was AMAZING! Although our Spanish was horrible, they were so helpful in trying to accommodate all our needs. One of the ladies even helped do some laundry before we left because we were running low...

Got this trip as a gift and before we booked our flight, we should of done our research of this place. Booking the trip was easy and convenient. The hotel driver (for additional charge) was on time and greeted us upon arrival. Did not realize the travel to the hotel would take close to 2 hours of sketchy driving. Upon...

There is a serious problem with communication with this company. We found them on Groupon and spoke to Mario before booking. Everything seemed fine until we paid. We received an itinerary with the wrong dates. It took multiple calls and emails to get the dates changed. The dates were finally changed the night before we left. I don’t think it...

The rooms are clean. Very friendly service. Staff is always willing to answer any questions and have a great attitude. Katarina is the manager on staff and is one of the most acomidating managers we've met in a long time. Highly recommend.

Even though is not one of the other fancy (expensive) hotels of the area, this one gave me a great experience, which gladly I would go back again without hesitation. Personnel is highly friendly and the room since first impression looks very nice with microwave, mini-fridge, flat screen TV (I didn’t use), a small but efficient AC unit and a...

We stayed at Hotel Lavas del Arenal as part of a Groupon deal. As the title says, I have mixed feelings about our expirience, so I will just list some pro's and con's we came across. Pros: Most of the staff were very kind and eager to help. Breakfast is made to order. Room service cleans rooms daily and leaves...
