This hotel will cab you to the airport and is only a 7 minute cab ride away. The staff helped me find my way around, held my bags and allowed me to shower after checkout. You have to be buzzed in to get into the building so it feels very safe. I loved walking around Alajuela. we visited the market,...

The Hotel is small with maybe 15 rooms? It looks like it was an old home that was redone. The rooms were small and charming and very clean. The bed was a little hard, and the street noise from the street out front at night was a bit loud. It is not air conditioned, but the night time temperatures drop...

The room was very comfortable, with actual places for luggage, clothes closet and a desk with chair. Very nice bathroom, a/c, tv, and lovely courtyard. Los Volcanes is an old Victorian style (from the outside) house, beautiful flowers, gated, in an area close to the center of Alejuela, safe, and near a variety of restaurants, pharmacy, etc. We had mani-pedis from...

We stayed at Hotel los Volcanes for one night before a flight out of SJO. It is about a $7 cab ride from the airport to the hotel- like other reviews mention, they will pay for your return trip to the airport, which is nice. We left too early to get breakfast, but that is also included I believe. I...

My husband and I spent one night at Hotel Los Volcanes at the end of our trip to Costa Rica in January 2016. It was an excellent location for getting to our early morning flight the next morning. The front desk manager was very helpful in every way and also gave us information about a good place to find dinner...

We stayed one night before our return trip. The superior room was a bit dark for our taste. We prefer lots of light and Windows. We would opt for a less expensive room with more light if we return. Check in was efficient. We were presented with a map indicating nearby restaurants, grocery store, and atm without even asking. Reception...

We were so happy we chose to stay our final night in Costa Rica at Hotel Los Volcanes in Alajuela for an early SJO departure the next day--the inclusive taxi ride to the airport in the morning was a snap! And this hotel was a great place for our final night in town. The room was small but clean, as...

We stayed here for a couple of nights at the beginning of our trip and one night at the end. It was a 10 dollar taxi ride to get there from the airport but the hotel provided a taxi on our return. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful when I checked in, and that deserves the only star I would give them. They also allowed me to check in early, since my room hadn't been used the night before. When I checked in, the receptionist booked my taxi for the next morning, which was at 7am. Breakfast also started at 7am,...
