Don Fernando has created a beautiful environment here. In succession, I was impressed with the security (for my family & vehicle), the elegant quarters, Don Fernando's great dining advise, my good night's sleep, breakfast, and finally, the ease with which we got to the airport that morning.

We chose this place for our first and last night's stay in Costa Rica, and are glad we did. It was so nice to have Fernand pick us up from the airport (despite some momentary confusion as to where to find him, due to his delay in traffic). Having Fernand set up our car rental in advance - for no...

One of the Charming Nature Hotels of Costa Rica. When you arrive at and/or depart from SJO an evening with Fernando and Barbara is a convenient and comfortable alternative to the typical airport hotels. They will pick you up. The drive to their small hotel is only 15 minutes. Barbara is a wonderful cook. If you need a rent car,...

Barbara and Fernand are very friendly and amiable hosts. If you ask, they will provide advice on best places to visit, best way to get there and lots of practical tips on how to avoid unnecessary trouble (bad roads, traffic, hours of operation etc.). Another great benefit of staying at Quinta Don Fernando is that for a small fee Fernand...

We had chosen to stay with Barbara and Fernand after seeing the good reviews on Tripadvisor. The Quinta is very conveniently located for the San Jose airport and a good starting point for traveling around Costa Rica. But it is their charm, hospitality and wealth of local knowledge which really single them out as 5*. They were incredibly helpful in...

This is my first post on tripadvisor. It was the first time for us and our two children in Costa Rica, Fernand and Barbara were perfect hosts and before we came gave us good advice on travelling around the Country on where we should go and what to see during our 11 day holiday. They organised a car for us...
