We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Isabelle is so welcoming and helpful! She helped us organize a car rental, which was fabulous as there are many companies to choose from. Breakfast was good and the location was perfect for us. The only thing that stops me from rating this property excellent is that on their website they advertise... More

thanks for the great review, we really appreciate it when guests take the time to send a little note, specially when it is positive. in this case, i just want to clarify that in our website we offer a safe for our guests, but we do not put anywhere that it is in the room, it is in the office,... I stayed here on 3 occasions in between parts of our trip to Costa Rica. The manager, Isabel is so helpful and on one occasion, when we were leaving earlier than the normal breakfast time, she got up early just to make us some coffee and toast which we really appreciated. She also arranged a rental car to be dropped... More

We stayed a couple of days here after our flight from the UK then booked to stay before flying home. It gave us a great opportunity to rest after our flight and to take a leisurely walk around Alajuela. We really enjoyed staying at Vida Tropical,Isabel was incredibly helpful and can really recommend staying here we would definitely stay here... More

Isabel was very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay in the Fish Room. The B&B was a lovely place to relax and we enjoyed sitting in the hammock and in the garden watching the rabbit. Our bed was a bit creaky but comfy and in a nice big room. We really liked the honesty system for drinks and it was... More

Booked here as it was cheap and close to the airport (it's just over 10 minutes - about $10) The owner/manager waited up and made sure taxis etc were sorted for the morning, and that I didn't pay too much for a taxi due to my surfboard. The room had everything I needed - the decor was homely but sufficient.... More

Getting lost in Alajuela during rush hour traffic, we called Vida Tropical B&B and Isabel calmly gave us directions and helped us arrive safely. whew! After 2 weeks of traveling, we were tired, dirty and a bit nervous about getting our car back to the rental agency, and to the airport the next morning on time and getting good food... More

The manager, Isabel, is very helpful in arranging things. Need to be picked up at the San Jose airport? Just let her know ahead of time and she will arrange for you to be met--any time of night or day. Celia, the cook and housekeeper, is superb as well. Breakfast start with a plate of fresh fruit and then a... More

Benefit is that wife of manager runs good restaurant, would stay here again in a heart beat. Ten dollar cab ride from airport and they will arrange... More

We had an opportunity to stay at this great B&B last week. We have known Isabel for almost a year, and have been there once or twice. When we needed to stay in town for a night this is where we picked. It was a most enjoyable time. Isabel greeted us warmly, and we met a couple of other guests.... More

I stayed here two nights when I first arrived and two other nights during my first visit to Costa Rica. They were able to accommodate me at the last minute when another hotel messed up my reservation. I enjoyed Vida Tropical on several levels. It was relatively inexpensive for the quality of the rooms and breakfast, it was convenient to... More

“As should be expected, the rooms along the front street side are more subject to the motorcycle and car noise during the day and into the evening some. The Terrace room bed was fine for sleeping, but it's a Murphy bed and has a hard wooden edge all around it. I don't know if the other rooms are the same.”
