Stayed here on final night of trip and would very highly recommend as an alternative to going in to San Jose ( even when the major roadworks are finished). The hotel organised pick up and return to the airport, which worked well. The room was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable, plus restaurant was good. Staff friendly and very helpful,...

We stayed here one night. Checking in was a bit confusing. There are two buildings here, each with their own check in and parking. Our friend was booked in the lower building next to the restaurant and pool while we were in the upper building with a great view and a tree full of birds. Our room was big and...

This hotel was perfect for our group of 18 people. People came into SJO at different times and Xenia and Carla arranged for them to be picked up perfectly. Rooms were great, service was beyond impeccable, and the restaurant was excellent. The grounds and views were great for bird spotting and the hotel is a great and unique place to...

This was a very well maintained and clean hotel. The owner, manager, and staff take great pride in keeping the grounds and buildings in great shape. The grounds were beautiful, rooms large, clean, and comfortable beds. They even have added hiking trails in the back of their hotel for guests to use and now have a fire pit. Restaurant food...

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. Villa San Ignacio was excellent in all areas. The staff was courteous and a delight to deal with. It has much to offer from a light stroll on a beautiful three hectare property to its gorgeous views from the hotel room. Property is gated and safe. There is an excellent restaurant on...

We picked this hotel based on other reviews. We travelled with our two children (11 and 14). Check-in was simple.. Staff were always more than friendly. Our boys enjoyed the pool area and games room, especially the pool table. The breakfast was quite good, with two choices of meal, the typical (Costa Rican style breakfast) and the Continental. The rooms...

We had a great stay. The service is outstanding. The man at the bar (unfortunately we don't remember his name) did everything for us to make us feel at home, even organized to get our laundry washed. Thank you so much!!! Breakfast was delicious and the pool very nice. There is even a billard table. Loved it!!

We spent only one night at the hotel but we enjoyed it a lot. The rooms were comfortable and the personnel was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, our room was very close to the street so it was a little noisy. Other than that, everything was very niche. It is an excellent option outside San Jose and on your way to the...

Thanks again for pointing out our staff's helpfulness and attitude towards great service! For people looking an option outside of San José, and avoiding traffic jams in the capital city, we are definitely a great option in the area. As you mentioned, we want to be set apart by our design and character -minimalistic rooms, art gallery, green areas, and...

This Garden-Hotel its an amazing experience touching the nature with a tropical forest around. I appreciate the service and carings from the staff. Nice pool and the location is really good cause you are outside from Alajuela´s rush hours. Best regards!

A large amount of our 3 hectares of property is dedicated to our gardens and green areas, that's why you get the feel of being in the middle of a tropical forest, even though we are located 20 minutes from the International Airport Juan Santamaría in Alajuela. Thanks again for pointing out our staff service and caring! We love what...

main area of hotel is nice and decor is cool. Food and cocktails are good. Downside is that rooms arent so hip or well appointed- and location isnt nice- its near airport in a part of Alajuela which is really grimmy and located on road..but from inside the complex, you wouldnt notice so its OK. The bathrooms in particular arent...
