I read reviews and wanted to give the hotel a try for two days from 4th to 6th of May. I had read complains of limited English language. I went there with some effort of Chinese interpretation as I do in taxis and even shops around China. To my surprise, a number of staff in the front house can communicate...

The rooms are large, but are very tired. There's a distinct smell of cigarette smoke that pervades everything. The mattress could also be used as a chopping board. The hot water isn't that hot, and takes time to arrive. The Japanese restaurant on level 2 is very nice. Location is alright, next door to the Hilton. Overall it seems to...

We stopped here for 3 nights on our trip to Shanghai - firstly the language is a slight problem as only a couple of the staff actually speak English but we managed to get around this and saw it as part of our chinese experience rather than a hindrance. The hotel itself is in need for some TLC and a...

I stayed here for 3nights to attend a conference. They claim themselves as a 4star hotel. Apart from a big size room everything about this hotel is shabby and of poor quality. I asked for a non smoking room - that's what I was given but the bed linen, upholstery everything smells of cigarette. When mentioned they said all rooms...

avoid this lousy motel, it is not worth paying for "hotel" price.. 1) The review given by "dtsc" is pretty similar to my experience. Stayed here for 1 night only for business trip. was assigned the "Best" room available - a Suite (room no 1201), very spacious, but living room & bedroom were both filled with lingering strong smoking stench....

West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
