First thing, it's cheap, real cheap. Second thing, it's a Chinese 2 Star rated hotel, so be warned. The Good - location, location, location. Within minutes to a train station, Nanjing West shopping district with international, upmarket cafes, restaurants and shops. Now for The BAD - it's old, musty, hard beds, half working internet, flimsy furniture and bugs, Bugs n...

Typical noisy Chinese hotel with both the guests and employees shouting in the hallways and slamming doors. Many small things falling apart or not working. Great location. The problems would be acceptable in a 100 RMB hotel, but not acceptable at 300-500RMB a night. It was probably a nice hotel in the past, but it is not being maintained.

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
