This place is awesome! Hotel interior is good but exterior is poor. I love the restaurant with the most most beautiful view of the bund, the most beautiful place in shanghai. I have been there 3 years back and have little recollection of it.

this review is only for the deluxe room with kitchen & living room. Very good location, great rates, the room (504) I stayed in is very clean and comfortable. has wired internet, no Wi-Fi (lobby has wifi). luckily I brought along a wired USB modem for my Surface tablet. , it has an upright refrigerator ( you can cool a ton of beer), infrared stove, oven, hot water pot. no plates, pans, utensils. bring your own if you want to cook (but who wants to when there are so many restaurants nearby). the living room has a dining table , coffee table, sofas. the bedroom is roomy, bathroom is very clean (no hard hand soap, buy your own). Good air conditioning (don’t know about the heating in the winter though). it is only a few meters from the bund. a few blocks from metro line 2 (if you don’t want to walk, there’s a tram bus stop in front that will takes you near it). the street entrance looks like it's a parking area not a hotel. lobby is on the 2nd floor. there is a convenient store... Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.

“Choose the units with kitchen and living room, even it cost a bit more. it is worth it. make sure they give you the same number(s) of towels everyday. they started with 2, then realizing I only use one per day, left me only one on the last few days. when I was checking out, they said the bathroom has only one towel and wanted to charge me for the missing one.”
