I've stayed at the Ruitai Hotel about 4 times now and I keep coming back because it's a pretty solid Chinese style hotel with a lot of really convenient features. I live in a nearby city and I usually have to stay the night in Shanghai to break my journey when flying to other locations. The Ruitai is situated right...

The hotel is located a stone's throw away from metro station and easy to find. There are many restaurants nearby and also a food plaza. Room is spacious, bed is quite comfy. They change your towels and provide free mineral water and tea leaves everyday. Cleanliness can be improved. They provide free wifi in rooms but are pretty weak. Overall,...

We were allocated a room which has a large window with frosted glass so you can’t see the outside which was depressing. We were lucky enough to move to another room with city view but the noise from the Industrial Aircon unit in the building next door was unbearable especially during the night. It’s true some of the central rooms...

This room was in a great location and the hotel staff were super nice. However, the room was run down and had an odd smell. For the price range, I have stayed in cleaner hotels that have cost the same.

Hotel itself is getting old especially the bathroom can certainly do with some renovation! But the location is excellent, situated between NanJing road West the shopping haven and WuJiang Road with excellent coffee plus food choices, especially the famous Xiao Yang Sheng Jian (pan fried pork buns) has a store on WuJiang Road. Staff are friendly can communicate with limited...

My family needed to make a trip to Shanghai to visit our consulate so we thought we'd make a vacation out of it. The Ruitai Jingan Hotel is 4 minutes walk from the U.S. Consulate. I was pleasantly surprised to find that we are smack dab in the center of an up scale shopping district. I was disappointed to find...

This hotel located in West Nanjing Road. 1 minute walk away from Shanghai Metro Line 2 (use exit 4 nearest). Outside the hotel are all eateries. Try the 2 most famous dumpling at Food Plaza (above Metro exit 4 station) both located at 2nd floor. Shanghai taxi is very cheap and plenty so i won't give any credit for the...

i have stayed here about 6 different times. By far the best place I have stayed in Shanghai. For the money you can not beat the room, service, location, buffet, restaurant, and atmosphere. I hate giving it a good review because it will be harder for me to get a room next time. The staff is number one period. No...

This hotel is great for location and one of the main reasons why we chose this hotel, it is 1-2 minutes away from West Nanjing Station and there are also restaurants and drinks stores and a 7 Eleven (Popular Asian newsagent) nearby the hotel. When we arrived to the hotel we found the room not so clean and there are...

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
