My first inkling that this hotel was a bit away from the center was when the taxi driver couldn't find it and after driving round in circles for some time he dropped me off near but not really near the location. Fortunately, a very nice young couple came to my rescue and ordered a Didi car that was able to find the hotel with the aid of their accurate app. By the time I arrived I was tired and also wet from the depressing drizzle. Walking into the Hongta was a great relief and it is a very nice hotel. The lobby is spacious and very clean and the staff mostly speak enough English to be helpful. I was upgraded to a larger and higher room and while the views are pretty ordinary being mainly roof tops and other buildings it was nice to be above any adjacent properties removing any feeling of being overlooked. The windows were huge compared with many other hotel rooms. The room had a big king bed, desk and armchair. The amenities were pretty standard - safe, kettle (no coffee maker), sparsely filled minibar fridge. The Aeron desk chair was a nice touch. The bathroom was big with separate walk-in shower and full size tub. The wifi was really excellent. After several previous hotels with creaky, slow internet systems it was great to have a fast and stable connection all the time.

The Hongta is part of the Marriott group and has a lovely executive lounge on the 40th floor that I was able to use. Tea was served in the afternoon and there was a happy hour in the afternoon/evening that was actually several hours and included enough food to make a full dinner meal.

Things that I really appreciated about the hotel were good communication in advance of my arrival and help in sorting out the metro lines. The Century Avenue metro stop where several lines converge is only about 5 minute's walk away.

Overall, the Hongta's good points make up for the location and the nearby metro station makes it easy and cheap to get around the city. I would consider staying there again.

Hongta is one of my favor hotel in China, it has a stylish taste at it cost, the service and room quality remain the St. Regis's tradition. Many furnitures are high quality used, it might seem some aged, but it has been well maintain.

They are going to renew soon, hoping the quality and cost still in the way of the future.

The hotel is located on Shanghai Dongfang Road, between Pudong Century Avenue and Pudong Station subway stations. It is not far from both, and there is a bus station nearby. There are several other large hotels nearby.
Since it is a hotel in the city, it has complete living functions such as dining and shopping.
The staff at the counter have a good service attitude, kindness and professionalism.
Looking at the decoration and furniture in the room, it feels like it has the flavor of old Shanghai. It must have been in business for a long time. For modern people who often use electronic devices, although the sockets are sufficient, USB charging is a device that uses an extension cord and is concentrated in one place.
The room is quite large, and the bathroom with a bathtub is relatively large. For environmental reasons, no disposable items are provided.
The TV channel selection is not too large, about 40, including several English channels and others from mainland China.
Due to the flight time, I didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on the restaurant.

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and the initial impression of this hotel is pretty decent. The room size is spacious and the bathroom has plenty of space.

Generally clean but I did find some tidbit crumps on the carpet below the work desk area when we just checked in. The rate that I booked did not include breakfast and my Marriott Bonvoy Gold tier did not qualify for breakfast, however the reception lady pleasantly offered free breakfast stating because its our first time staying at this hotel. The breakfast did not live up to the luxury collection standard though.

It is located between 2 metro stations (pudian station and century avenue station). I would suggest walking from century avenue station as it is connected to century link mall and there are 4 different metro lines.

Looks quite old hotel, with old British style. Due to covid 19, no swimming pool and no italian restaurant. Fitness room still open. I booked a suite with access to executive lounge but it was small and food was not attractive. Room was cleaned and big. Bed is comfortable. Miss Small details to make differences: cup of tea are different, tea bags are low quality level, washing hands basin is not ergonomic, too small space to move hands under water. I received one chocolate on my pillow but we were 2!!!

Dear pabions, Thank you for your recent stay and comments. We were sad to see that you did not fully enjoyed the stay with us. We have different room types and bathroom layouts at the hotel and we would have been be more than happy to arrange a room that suites your likings. Executive Club is located on top level and takes half of the floor. Due to ongoing pandemic we have changed buffet to set menu during the happy hour, however should the food be not your taste we are always happy to prepare something especially for you. Please reach out to me directly should you like to discuss the matter personally at the email via Oleg.Skorokhod@theluxurycollectionhotels.com Yours Sincerely, OLEG SKOROKHOD GUEST RELATIONS AND LOYALTY MANAGER

A hotel to stay at again!
My stay last year was good, so I booked this hotel again this time when I came to Shanghai for an impromptu trip.
Although it is a single occupancy, the accessories in the room are still for 2 people.
The room is large in size, and so is the bathroom. In addition to shower facilities, there is also a bathtub. Those who like to take a bath are in luck! Although disposable supplies are not provided in the bathroom, you can still obtain them for free from the front desk if needed.
The lobby is spacious and the front desk staff are friendly, professional and courteous, which is worthy of praise.
The bedside electronic supplies charging device is very suitable for modern people who cannot live without 3C. It has 4 USB sockets and 2 power sockets, which is enough for use. In addition, other sockets are available.
There are many TV channels to choose from, with about 40 channels, about 10 overseas channels, and the rest are local channels in mainland China.
During my previous stay, I did not have breakfast due to flight time. This time we had enough time to have breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast is rich, including Chinese and Western dishes, noodle stalls and dim sum stalls. It is a pity that the juice is not freshly squeezed, otherwise it would be more perfect!

Stayed here in COVID times, arriving after 14 days quarantine in a local hotel. The price is reasonable and matches the services they offer. Breakfast could be much better though, but may be that is what you get when you don’t have too many foreigners living here. A lot of staff speaks English and surprisingly on a decent level, not what I am used staying in China before. All are polite and smiling which makes you feel a bit more comfortable. Especially housekeeping room attendant! I was reached out by email before my arrival by loyalty manager and explained my Marriott benefits and procedure I need to do upon check-in which was very helpful even for my future traveling in China. I also appreciate he was able to accommodate my early arrival request! All in all if you have business in the area this hotel is a solid choice.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the central CBD. The maintenance is quite good, rooms spacious with comfortable bed and chairs. The gym is very big and well-equipped. I would like to pay my thanks to club lounge staff, Sophia who is very very attentive and helpful. Plus the main happy hour is up to 8:30pm, I think businessmen would love it very much

I spent a night with the family the Hangar Hotel, staff was friendly, location good, breakfast buffet nice but the rooms and facilities needs some updating. I’m sure this was a nice hotel 15 to 20 years ago but the age shows. Many facilities were not working and the room was very dated, I’m quoting my son “The steam room has no steam, the tennis court no net and the whirlpool no bubbles”.

Nice hotel in central Pudong location. Great transport links (metro/ bus), helpful staff and nice views over Shanghai. The breakfast buffet was ok, with room for improvement, the Executive Lounge is beautifully located on the 40th floor, but needs
for some of their junior staff members to be better trained when it comes to customer service. Also, you need Alipay translate to communicate with staff members, which is actually quite common across China, so this didn’t impact my experience whatsoever. Overall a pleasant stay at a fair price.

You means your company booked the room for you, whether you can gain membership point from that? If that is the case, yes, you can, as long the room is under your name (tally your identification details and membership details).

I think there are a lot of fake good reviews. And I will definitely not stay here again as there are many other good hotels around the area. It is one of the worst “high end” hotels in Shanghai.

Take the maglev to the terminal station and then change to a cab. ATM can accept MC and Visa. You can draw out USD from them.
