Stayed one night for business in Shanghai. Hotel gets the job done. Rooms looked to be recently renovated and were spacious. One of the better hotels I have stayed at in Shanghai and/or Beijing for business. Breakfast buffet is very good too. Good mix of Eastern and Western choices. Concierge also went out to the high speed train station by...

We stayed at the Westin as we would be catching up with friends in Shanghai who had already booked there - therefore we didn't shop around at all. First thing I noticed was that prices for this hotel were pretty much fixed...no difference no matter where you looked. I kept an eye on it and luckily one day I noticed...

Stayed here for one night at the start of my trip to China. Taxi ride from PVG to Westin was about 35 minutes, 165 RMB. Check in was simple, effortless, even upgraded me to a junior suite for the one night. Greatly appreciated! The tub in the bathroom had a view of Pudong! Comfy bed, just like every Westin property....

Good location just 10 minute walk to the bund. Friendly staff, particularly the concierge who were really helpful. Fantastic breakfast choice, and good quality. Plus the "heavenly bed" which isn't a gimmick-probably one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in!

After many trips to Shanghai, I have finally found the hotel - Executive Club Room - where I hope to spend many more comfortable nights. Be sure to take an Executive Club Room where you can enjoy breakfast, drinks all day, and a fantastic dinner buffet relaxing in a quiet Executive Lounge. The team in the Lounge is the most...

Staying in The Bund

Neighbourhood Profile
The Bund
While there are certainly many other “bunds” in the world, “the Bund” refers to Shanghai’s famous waterfront. The area’s Gothic, Art Deco and Beaux Arts monoliths were built when it was part of the Shanghai International Settlement run by the British and Americans. The atmosphere of colonial-era luxury has endured over time and is now found in the five-star hotels, luxury brand boutiques and expensive restaurants that can be found within the historic buildings. A cultural center has built up away from the water and some of Shanghai’s best art galleries and museums are housed close to the Bund. Nighttime views of Pudong and the rest of the city also make for a great backdrop at the many rooftop clubs.
