Shanghai is a city with a colorful past, a fast-paced present and a promising future. It is a fascinating city for every visitor. The Bund is a collection of relics of the past that imbues Shanghai with its vigorous energy today. In the middle of this all is our hotel, The Westin Bund Center, Shanghai. On level one, we have our lobby lounge, Heavenlies, serving fresh coffee and beverages all day, and The Stage offering an all international buffet. Also located on level one is our fresh deli shop, Treats, which features delicious sandwiches and take-away beverages. Finally, we have our specialty restaurant, Crystal Garden, on level five serving Chinese, Japanese and Thai specialties. Our Spa & Fitness facilities are spread out over level three and five, combined by a beautiful spiral staircase. For secretarial services, you can visit our business center on level three. We provide guests with complimentary high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel.

Although it is large and there is a lot of traffic, the treatment is personalized and very good.
The rooms are large and very comfortable with a separate desk area and a good bathroom perfectly equipped with a bathtub and shower.
I really liked the varied breakfast with quality products.
The location is very good, a couple of blocks from the Bund. I liked an antique and porcelain store on the little street opposite (as you leave the hotel, on the right). If you have time, it's worth it.
Finally, I would like to highlight that I love the aroma that is in all the Westins around the world. It smells phenomenal and they have managed to make the aroma a distinctive feature of the brand.

Our 2 week long honeymoon started at The Westin Bund Center, Shanghai. What a delightful and surprising stay it was! We tasted the wonderful hospitality right from the main entrance, the exclusive check in experience (make sure you look out for the glass tank of jellyfish!) all the way to our spacious and decorated room.
As a loyal Marriott member, my husband and i are deeply appreciative of the hotel team who takes care of the little details of each guest experience. Because of your care and attention to detail, we got to feel so special and this is only possible with each staff member empowered by their leaders to go the distance for their guests.
We'd like to extend a special mention to Isabel Guo, Steven Yan and Fred Yao for your professionalism in assisting to our requests and ensuring we get the best value. Thank you for your authenticity, unique personalities and big wide smiles that left us such a lasting impression. May you continue to flourish and know that people notice the little things and your efforts are never wasted. They go a long way to create lasting memories! So thank you once again, also to the Housekeeping and Guest Service Team - the heart of the hotel, you are highly loved and deeply favoured!

Well located, very close to the Bund and Nanjing Road (commercial area and the Nanjing East Rd subway), there are no restaurants near the hotel so you will have to take a taxi or go to the hotel itself, which I do not recommend due to the price and the amount of food, the beds are very small for two people, speaking of the single one, for the price that was offered the hotel does not include breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can say that it is basic and anything is expensive in addition to the accommodation that is found anywhere. It is still luxurious 4 nights 1100usd the good thing is that it was in a suite and had a good internet connection. The hotel staff was not as friendly as in other hotels and they do not speak English well. The front of the hotel is the same as another one that is about a block and a half away, it has the same infrastructure, improve the lighting at the entrance at night, I feel schizophrenic due to lack of lighting 🤷🏻♂️

I’ve been staying at the Westin post COVID since my old haunt, the now refurbished Le Meridien Hotel on East Nanjing Road, is no longer part of the Marriott Group - now Conrad.
The Westin Hotel is in the same area of Shanghai so good for city access and its rooms are home from home to the Le Meridien’s. The same / similar room decor but also the same dated feel. The TV’s are not Full HD 1080 and there is no 5+ Sport channel available which is very disappointing to be honest for such a room rate and even though I’m not a sports fanatic, not having the best channel in China for visitors is a crazy omission IMO.
The views also from this hotel are nowhere near as good and I don’t believe a river view is even possible even though the location is closer to the river so don’t get oversold.
The Club lounge is OK but I miss the characters from Le Meridien who I had got to know over 15 years.
So the Westin is a perfectly fine hotel, a little tired in some areas, it is due a makeover soon and is not cheap. The Club is ok, the dining downstairs is also fine and the Concierge handle travel requests expertly and efficiently.
The WiFi works well in the Hotel but as is the norm in China, the restrictions are getting tighter and tighter. I now use phone SIM data for news access etc.
I’ve stayed here 6 times in the last 6 months and I’ve never had a room upgrade even though I am a Gold member so don’t hang your hat on that option.

Westin with small room The grand lobby space has the style of a Westin hotel, but it doesn't stop there. Visitors shouldn't just want to see the gorgeous lobby. As far as the Westin series hotels I have stayed at, the rooms in Shanghai Westin are really small, which seems to lower the level of Westin. The hotel's location is pretty good. You can reach the lively Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street within walking distance, as well as famous Shanghai attractions such as the Bund and Yu Garden. Although the room is small, the bathroom also has a bathtub in addition to a shower space. There are not many TV channels to choose from, about 20 or so, and there are naturally fewer foreign language channels. The number of sockets required for 3C products is pretty good, enough for guests to use. Due to flight time, breakfast was not used.

A very satisfying and pleasant stay! The hotel has an elegant and comfortable environment, clean and tidy hygiene, warm and thoughtful service, and a superior geographical location. I am very grateful to Ms. Yao Weijia, the hotel's front desk manager, for her careful arrangements and warm and meticulous service. She arranged the room for us in advance, prepared exquisite birthday cakes 🎂 and balloons 🎈, as well as handwritten birthday cards, and provided us with upgraded treatment in the Westin Executive Lounge, which surprised us again and again 😊 The hotel room is large and comfortable, and the breakfast is also rich, with many Western and Chinese varieties. The hotel's geographical location is also excellent, close to the Bund and Yuyuan Chenghuang Temple. In short, the Westin Hotel allowed me and my family to have a wonderful and unforgettable birthday 🎉 Thank you again 🥹

I spent 5 nights in this hotel, and had varying experiences over the nights.
Housekeeping was inconsistent as they topped up amenities on some days and did not do so on other days. We approached housekeeping about it and it did not get better.
Hotel was also very crowded and messy during check in. Better crowd control could definitely be done.
Plus point of the hotel was that we had a nice view of the oriental pearl tower as we stayed in the grand tower.

Room dated, but grand and spacious. Book the new tower to get views of East Nanjing road. Staff very friendly and helpful. Toothbrush oddly has to be requested from front desk.
Walking distance 15mins to several major tourist attractions however be warned as location from these places are Around 1km, you won’t get an e-hailing ride if you are saddled with shopping bags and need a cab back. Either you walk or you pay rip-off prices to taxis.

If you happen to like being spoiled and treated like royalty, The Westin Shanghai is the place for you. From the moment we walked in, the staff apparently decided we were VIPs (or they treat everyone like that, who knows?). The room was so spacious and stylish, it's almost as if they wanted us to never leave. And the view? Oh, just the breathtaking Shanghai skyline—I suppose that's pretty standard.
The breakfast buffet? Well, let’s just say it’ll ruin every other breakfast you’ve ever had. So many options, it almost felt like they were daring us to try everything. And don’t get me started on the spa—Heavenly Spa is an understatement.
Location-wise, they had the nerve to place the hotel right in the heart of the city, making sightseeing way too convenient. Honestly, it’s hard to find a single thing to complain about, which is, of course, infuriating. All in all, an annoyingly perfect stay—guess we’ll have to come back!

I had a poor experience as a Bonvoy Gold Elite member and my room did not meet my standards for a mid-tier or above Marriot hotel. The short story is after paying for an upgraded room, I still had the worst view in a hotel room that I can remember.
For the full story: The front desk tried to upsell me into a nicer room. I asked if I could have a complimentary upgrade and they said they didn't have any but that I would like the bigger room more. I paid for the upgrade, and then saw my room was going to be on the 6th floor out of 26 floors, which is the lowest floor that has guest rooms on it. I asked if my "upgraded" room could be on a higher floor. They said they didn't have availability which seemed odd given November is low season and I was staying mid-week and the hotel felt pretty empty during breakfast. When I went to my room, I saw my "great view" (attached) of a literal wall!
If I was treated better upon checking in, I would have given this 4 or 5 stars given the great location, bathrooms, breakfast, and overall solid value.
