After a long day at work, finally get to check in at 10 pm, had some issues on my reservation but MOD Nancy resolved it right away. It’s not what I wanted to hear but at least she is been honest and sincere. The truth for this particular Courtyard is they will oversell and won’t give you the type of room you booked. So come at your own risk. This Courtyard is an older property with limited ceiling height and relatively small room. They renovated some rooms at end of last year but the quality was poor. When I got into the room I noticed there are quite a few spots on the wall that were clearly food stains and some spot the housekeeper told me was rust. There were also some sort of dried body fluids on the headboard. A lot of stain on the so called newly renovated rooms. Don’t want the trouble of moving again like last time I was here 10 days ago, do just called the AYS to have the housekeeper to come and wipe down the disgusting body fluids from the head board and disinfecting it. I am really tired so the hotel will have to clean the food stains on the wall and carpet after I checked out.

The hotel is located within various attraction despite needed to take subway.
Breakfast is reasonable but foods and tables are positioned at various locations due to the nature of the floor layout has cause a bit of inconvenience.
Room appeared a bit dated while the shower room is really really slippery due to smooth flooring. There is floor mat provided however you won’t expected the floor would be so slippery when wet and i did fall accidentally in the first time. Definitely it is H&S issue.
The lounge overall ok with drinks available up to 9pm.

Room - The room itself looks recently refreshed. A nice layout that the toilet, shower and wash basin is segregated but bathtub is not available. Amenities (toothbrush, bedroom slippers etc) are available and quite complete. Location- location was good and very near to a few malls and the train station (5 mins walk). Places to eat were plentiful around the area. Hotel is accessible from the airport through a direct line from the airport or about a 50 mins taxi ride. Others- The room came with breakfast, dinner and executive lounge access. Breakfast was a good spread but dinner was fairly dismal. The usual executive lounge was closed but you could get drinks from the cafe as part of the "lounge access".

Overall it was quite a pleasant stay. As a marriott platinum member, I was upgraded to an executive room located on the executive floor. I stayed for 3 nights thus was given a total of 3 drinks vouchers. There is a lounge on the 16th floor which is open from 4pm onwards and is accessible by platinum members and above. Between 5.30pm to 7.30pm, the lounge serves a decent spread of food. The location is excellent as Century Avenue station can be reached easily by cutting through the shopping mall. The water pressure from the shower is awesome and strong.
The carpet near the aircon seems to be moist during our stay.

This is one of my favorite hotel among Marriott Hotels. Apart its location, they never let me down to upgrade me to en-suite room. After Shanghai reopen from lockdown, I stated there for few weeks, surprisingly that they provide boxed-dinner as compensation of VIP lounge. Meanwhile, they also provide breakfast with various choice. This makes me feel home! Definitely it is worth to come again!

Hotel location is very good, a short walk to the metro station and shopping mall. Many eating places within the shopping and around the hotel. A number of local and foreign banks not far away from hotel, for travelers who need banking services.

Been quite a while since I've been here. Expectations met and exceeded. Comfy bed, room. There's even a dehumidifier in the room to keep the humidity down. Wall outlets cater to almost all plug types, US, UK, Europe, Australia - great ! Fitness room was pretty well equipped though showing its age. Plenty of free weights, machines, treadmills, ellipticals and cycles. Decently spacious...even put some Marriotts to shame. Breafast was a gastronomical delight....with noodle and egg stations. Good variety of breakfast and lunch items. Proximity to restaurants as well. 2 thumbs up !

Was last here before the pandemic, and with some updates, it's still the familiar and welcoming property. Comfortable bed and room. Wide selection at the breakfast buffet - gotta try the noodles cooked to order. Fitness room was well equipped with treadmills, ellipticals, machines and free weights. Location is good, pretty central....with many food options. The 96 plaza next door is worth exploring, as was the one across the street.

This is a very nice older hotel located immediately across the street form one of the largest subway stations in Shanghai. Rooms are not large but adequate and comfortable. Great AC, beds, and bathroom. For the money this is a great choice.

I've stayed in this hotel number of times over few years during business trips to Shanghai. The hotel offers good value for money and convenient location. Customer services has always been very good and staff very helpful.

For room upgrade please check with Hotel. I can't comment but I believe you will get one.
Yes, it is connected underground to underground subway but you might need to asked around to find the entrance or exit. But you won't missed it.
As everybody says there are no hotel shuttles, but cabs are easily obtained and very inexpensive. Remember you need to pay for cabs with cash though if you have foreign credit cards! The concierge/bell staff can give instructions to cab driver on where you are going but it is also helpful to ask them to write down direction for the return cab ride. English speaking cab drivers are nonexistent though you can get executive car service with English speakers.
There are more places to choose from in the Shanghai area.
