Detailed Reviews
My wife and I spent 4 days at this hotel last February and had a wonderful experience. We were on arrival a little apprehensive when we saw its location in a commercial almost industrial area believing we would be stranded from mainstream tourist areas however we need not have worried. We found ourselves only 7 minutes walk from a metro station which solved all our problems getting in and out of downtown. The hotel was great, beautifully designed with an impressive lobby, reception area and bar. We found the hotel to be quiet and restful. Staff could not have been more helpful and each day on arrival returning from sightseeing were greeted with a complementary glass of Chinese tea. We’d love to go back to Shanghai and would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel.

The hotel is great and the price is very reasonable. The revolving restaurant at the 50/F offers perfect view, however, the windows were dusty obstuctiing the view.
The temperature inside room is too hot, no fresh air and we ended up requesting to open the windows.
Staff from Reception (Vicky), Premier Lounge (Hebe) are few to name and offered friendly services.

What a fantastic team you have in Shanghai! Service is excellent, the pool is fabulous, the views are great...the room seems a bit outdated at first but it's really comfortable and quiet. The buffet breakfast is to die for, I just find it a tad too expensive (in line with all the rest of big hotels). Apart from that, I totally recommend staying there. We will come back.

Dear Eledublin, We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Novotel Shanghai Atlantis. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback in particular with the service of our associates. I will share your comments with our team. I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services. It is indeed that our guestrooms are bit outdated, for your information our owner is now working on a full renovation of our guestrooms and all public facilities which would be carried out in the not too distant future since this hotel is near to 20 years in operation. Our hotel's breakfast price is little cheaper than the same level hotels in Shanghai. Please be informed that we always have some special package room rates with breakfast on ACCORHOTELS.COM that you may choose when making the room booking in future. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one. Sincerely, Kathy Zhu Guest Experience Manager

I've stayed at quite a few Novotels over the years, but this one really could use some real renovation as the rooms are showing some extreme aging.
The breakfast, while having many options, you could tell the quality of the food items served was pretty poor or lacking in taste. I'd rather a smaller selection with higher quality items.
The lounge, as a platinum member, was the most hysterically bad lounge I've encountered in China, maybe in Asia Pacific region. The food was something that looked like it was left overs from the terrible breakfast, and not inviting at all. However, if you wanted a drink of red wine, while pouring my first glass, the lounge attendant explained it would be my only glass because they didn't want to open another bottle. They had a few hard liquors out but ultimately, the lounge, while large, is devoid of anything to eat or drink, so I completely didn't use it during my stay.
It probably all meets Novotel standards in APAC, at the barest minimum possible, like checking boxes, but I'd say this is one of the worser if not worst properties I've been too.
Probably the most irritating issue for myself was the wifi was at a max 5mbps down but speeds averaged 1-2 mbps throughout the day and up-speeds were at 50mbps. One the service reps tried to get IT to look into the issue but ultimately nothing improved and I moved to another Accor property as result.
As someone who has stayed at many Accor properties, this is one to really avoid.

Dear Michael K, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Novotel Shanghai Atlantis. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We understand that you were not very satisfied with the food quality of breakfast and snacks at Premier Lounge. Please accept my sincerest apologies. We will look into possibility to adjust the menu, and our Executive Chef has already conducted training for his staff members again and will keep monitoring the quality standard, so that you will have a better feeling and dining experience in your future visits. With regard to the wine service at Premier Lounge, since you were communicated with our service attendant in Chinese and I am sorry that our lounge attendant did not explain clearly or repeat in English, caused you misunderstanding, we will reinforce our training for improvement. In addition, we have checked the wifi equipment in the hotel and do not find any defect. The problem might be due to web access control in China as the speed of international sites can be slower than domestic sites. At Novotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We appreciate you sharing your concerns and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Sincerely, Kathy Zhu Guest Experience Manager

+1
Stayed here about a week. Clean rooms and reception. Nice view from upper floor rooms. Drinking water was provided in the room. Breakfast on top, 50th floor -rotating. Very nice views. But, in breakfast room, air condition needs to be turned up a bit, windows cleaned and tables cleaned immediately: very messy-I understand there were many guests, but tables were not cleaned, had to find my own fork etc almost every day. Once someone finishes having breakfast you need to clean immediately! Welcome drink for status guests is only a small beer! Despite Gold late checkout only until 3pm!

Close to restaurants and supermarkets, only 5-10 minutes walking from/to subway station. The hotel, rooms and service are very good and efficient. Breakfast buffet is amazing, everyday slight changes in one or more dishes, offering healthy, diet and regular breakfast for both Chinese and western style.

Pros · Friendliness and helpfulness. Very good concierge service. Elena at the front desk was so kind and helpful and on top of everything. There is an affordable massage place just next to the hotel entrance. The breakfast buffet was fantastic.
Cons · Not many restaurants around the hotel. Piano in lobby was not in use and just served as decoration. Revolving restaurant was not up to expectation as far as the diversity of the food offer is concerned (too many meat dishes).

Hotel in the Pudong district, near the Pudong Avenue metro station. The area is certainly quiet, close to the Shanghai Tower, and within minutes you can reach the bustling Bund by metro. The hotel is located in a skyscraper with a beautiful view and features a fantastic revolving restaurant where you can enjoy an excellent and abundant breakfast with a breathtaking view of the city.
Another highlight of this property is the courtesy and professionalism of the staff. In China, there are well-known issues with internet access for foreigners, and the hotel does everything it can to help, such as assisting with Disney reservations or flight check-ins, providing essential support.
We would like to extend our thanks to Shelley and Mikey, who provided invaluable assistance.

The hotel is very well located. The attendants are attentive. Breakfast is on the 50th floor with a very beautiful view of the city. The kids loved the Gift, little pet. The rooms do not have a bathtub, but the bathroom is quite tasty. Hotel near the center.

Hotel is under renovation. No services available besides cold breakfast.gym is closed, swimming pool is closed. Restaurants are closed. Proper hotel lobby is closed. Non smoking rooms smell like smoke. Very hard to get through building site to enter hotel. Heating is overrated for common spaces, so wear your jacket everywhere. Hallways are dirty and dusty from building dust

In most hotels with club floor, most times you have to book or upgrade to the club rooms to have the club access.
In my experience if they have no more club rooms then you can get the club access by paying a premium on your normal room. This I have experienced at another establishment.

Warm Greetings from Novotel Shanghai Atlantis!
In order to go from our hotel to Disneyland using Shanghai metro service (about 1 hour 15 minutes), you should go as following:
1. Take the line 4 at Pudong Avenue (5 minutes walk from our hotel)
2. Change to the line 2 at "Century Avenue" (1 stop) and go to the stop "Longyang Rd" (3 stops)
3. Change to the line 16 and go to the stop "Luoshan Rd" (2 stops)
4. Change to the line 11 and go to the stop "Disneyland" (3 stops)
The other option, by taxi, will take you about 40 minutes drive and will cost you around 120 CNY.
I hope these information will prove useful to you.
