Thank you so much for treating us so well. I will definitely come back to Sofitel. The employees are very nice and help foreigners a lot. The breakfast was very good and also the room service. Everything was clean. I enjoyed the time in Shanghai very much and because of the perfect location of the hotel it was very easy to go anywhere.
just top notch for a reasonable price in a world city ! I was welcomed in Dutch by Edwin who immediately filled me in on all things to know, especially with the whole WECHAT and QR codes , thanks . Room was perfect and clean . Staff is very helpful and the breakfast buffet was very good. the coffee kept coming which is sometimes difficult in a buffet breakfast. The location is perfect for seeing Shanghai and the metro is 2 minutes away.
Very welcomed to the center of Shanghai. Rooms were fantastic and the dutch room manager was always therefore to be of support. Staff speaks English and was very helpful. Next time I come to Shanghai, I would not even think about choosing a different hotel
I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights prior to boarding a flight to Europe. The location is perfect for sightseeing in Shanghai, just a short walk to metro station and close to many tourist attractions. The staff at the reception helped us to arrange Covid tests necessary for flight boarding, everything went smooth and it saved us a lot of hustle. I also received support from concierge staff in order to retrieve failed delivery parcel that I shipped at nearby China Post, we communicated by email after I left the hotel and all has been solved by Sofitel staff under personal supervision of hotel GM. Highly recommended hotel!
Owing to COVID-19, I have not been to Shanghai for over a year. It was nice to be back at SOFITEL SHANGHAI HYLAND. I was greeted by Edwin Pfeil (Director of Room) at the check-in counter who welcome me. Being ACCOR DIAMOND member I was provided with the usual benefits and was upgraded to a Junior Suite on the 26/F having it for 3 nights. Though the hotel was not busy with foreign guest (International arrival required to do 14 days mandatory quarantine at designated facilities) they continue to keep the club benefits but with limited service. This is truly understandable. The executive lounge is currently suspended but guest can have breakfast either through room service or buffet on the 2nd floor coffee shop. Afternoon tea and social hour are done at 505 BAR. Edwin explained that the hotel is prepared to re-open the executive lounge once it is justifiable. My trip was very much business related and for this trip will have very short time to enjoy the hotel facilities hence I decided to try both afternoon snacks and evening cocktail on the first day of my stay. My observation was the afternoon session was very busy. Being a BAR they do have patrons other then hotel guest. These I noticed are local who came to enjoy the afternoon tea. When I announced my room, the waitress organised coffee of my choice plus platter of snacks. I spent time in the BAR till evening cocktail. Now I realised what Edwin meant when I saw mine was the only my table occupied in the BAR during social hour. We were offered platter of various snacks and unlimited drinks. We tried both red and white wine which wasn’t bad. The experience at the BAR compared with the lounge was different but acceptable given the circumstances. Breakfast at MOSIAC on the 2nd Floor where the spread wasn’t anything great whilst the food was acceptable. My opinion is nothing to look forward to or regret if I missed it. The hotel is located in the heart of the city right in front of the walking street. Unlike what other cities experience now, the street was packed with people. It seems there is no pandemic in Shanghai or China. The location of hotel is exactly what I wanted. Closed to all my appointments and dinner venue. Will consider accommodating myself here on my next visit to Shanghai.…
