Detailed Reviews
We decided to have a staycation over a long May Labor day weekend, few options we had and Ritz Carlton Pudong was celebrating their 10th anniversary and the package was very attractive.
Room: We booked a panoramic suite and it was on the 42nd floor.. the space was very specious and the wall to wall of windows do offer an amazing view. this suite is a lot bigger than suites with bund view but we enjoyed the space and the bathroom is very nice with a great view. Hotel upgraded the sound box from Bose to B&O, TVs in both living room and bedroom are huge. wifi was fast and HSKP service was very attentive
Check-in and Check-out: we arrived a bit earlier than normal check in time and the suite was ready, however the check in was a bit longer than normal luxury hotel and nor warm like one. However Mia WOWed us upon our departure, when we walked out of the lift with our bags she greeted me as "Mr XXX... did you enjoy your stay?" and we chatted away. Very personal interaction which was very nice
Food and Beverage: We had room service breakfast as part of package, and it was served promptly with great food quality and presentation and the waiter engaged a very pleasant conversation while setting up the room. Flair on the rooftop also offered amazing service! One thing they can do better was the afternoon tea service, the area we were seated had amazing view but dust and long hair on the window bench area was very disturbing. Also my partner has dietary restriction and they couldnt offer other options but just informed us what he could eat.
Over all a great business hotel, very impressive and can also be a staycation location.

after a few times short stays at the pudong RC, I decided to bring my family to enjoy the skyline of LUJIAZUI from the hotel rooms. Cancy from the front desk had prepared the kids masks in advance for my girls' arrival. And she could remember that I once told her the pearl tower view was great so the room just framed the pearl tower in the windows! My kids were so excited! And a couple of days later we decided to stay again! Tom and Ivy had prepared the welcome fruits, warm milk and even the kids tooth paste in the room before we arrived. They had noticed my girls usually take a nap in the afternoon so kindly let us late check out.
Thank you for the ladies and gentlemen from pudong RC! Shout out for Cancy, Tom and Ivy!

The experience staying in SH Pudong Rizt is good. Especially Jack Hong from concierge department provided very considering service, taking care of the delieres with much patient. The room window is in front of Pudong review, so the view is good, though the room is not big. Breakfeast choice is quite limited. Besides, they only provide laundry service on Mon, Wed and Fri during COVID-19 period, and it's not convinient a little bit.

This is an extremely loud hotel. For those who are noise sensitive, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
First, there is massive construction on one side of the hotel (the side not facing the iconic TV tower). Second, the air conditioning in the room is really loud and noticeable, even when on a low setting. Third, the guest doors are very heavy, so if someone in your hallway opens or closes a door, you will definitely hear it. The walls are also surprisingly thin. I could hear the infant of the family next door screaming occasionally. Fourth, the breakfast buffet is a zoo. The hotel allocated way too cramped a space to comfortably accommodate guests when the hotel is operating at full capacity. The check in process for breakfast is very hectic, with guests jostling to check in. The food is abundant but solidly mediocre - it feels like a place that caters for volume rather than quality. Also the mobile coverage is terrible and the WiFi can be unstable. I had some really painful Zoom calls.
The service is a bit spotty. I had some really wonderful experiences with the housekeeping staff. I got a nosebleed and one of the staff immediately delivered a humidifier to my room, which I really appreciated. The night managers on staff were also really wonderful. However, sometimes calls to the service hotline would go unanswered for a long time. I tried to change rooms and it took a over 7 hours to make the switch.
The hotel is really convenient if you have business in IFC. However, because of the above issues, I sometimes found it difficult to sleep. If you’re a noise-sensitive business traveler, you might consider looking elsewhere.

My husband and I have been living in Hangzhou since November. We decided to spend Christmas in Shanghai and looked at quality, inexpensive hotels. As the Ritz-Carlton is infamously expensive in the United States, we didn’t consider the option, however, a room was going for a great rate so we snapped it up! We are so glad that we did! The hotel had an amazing Christmas buffet with an interesting blend of Western and Chinese foods, and they very nicely decorated our room personally in Christmas decorations! It was a short stay, unfortunately, but an amazing experience that my husband and I would 100% repeat again!

The pandemic made my husband and I reluctant to take our usual holiday abroad this year. Even local travel seemed risky after we were separated for 8 months when the Chinese border closed. We needed a chance to reconnect, so we decided that on an extra-nice staycation in Shanghai.
Our room for our romantic escape had an enormous bed, bathtub, and Bund-view windows, even a selection of desserts. But what really made our stay special was the staff, especially Karis, Wendy, and Emma at the club lounge.
The service is so attentive and personal that you feel they work for you rather than for the hotel. I've never experienced that elsewhere. When we asked for some good places to eat nearby, Karis printed a long list of recommendations for us. We also asked for some less touristy places, and she enthusiastically recommended several of her own favourite local restaurants and gave us her personal contact info in case we needed help. She even gave us a very personal gift as we were checking out. I 100% recommend the Ritz Carlton, Pudong for visitors and locals looking for a special experience in Shanghai.
Get a club room. The service and club lounge are worth it. The all-day complimentary meals, snacks, and drinks, even beer and wine, make it excellent value.
Get a package. Ours gave us a third night free, complimentary limo service, and a 600rmb credit at the hotel's restaurants.
You must stay at the Ritz Carlton, Pudong. Many thanks to the wonderful staff for making our stay special.

Can't say enough good things about this property! Fantastic hotel, staff, location, view, etc. We had stayed here 3 years ago and it still is a superb property. We arrived 31 Dec. (last minute booking) and spent 5 days here. Mr. Adrian Almirante (head of hotel rooms division) was able to get us an upgrade after our first night. He gave us amazing information and personal attention making us feel like "royalty" - he even walked us to a nearby restaurant so we wouldn't get lost. Thanks. Also, thanks to Yijie and Wendi, club mgrs. who gave us much help, advice, recommendations and personal attention. Wow - this is what a great hotel should be like! We'll definitely stay here again, next visit. Thanks

I am staying in ritz carlton pudong for a month and the quality of the housekeeping and the attention to detail has been amazing. They noticed which coffee i like and gave me more of those and took away what I did not use. They also added extra body wash and towels that i used most and left thoughtful notes in English and Chinese asking me if I needed anything else. I would particularly like to recognize Amy in 客房部 for her professionalism and level of service。今天,我在她快要打扫完房间的时候遇到她,她态度真诚,特别好。给她点赞!

Have always been a regular patron at their rooftop bar Flair but it's my first to partake a dinner event in their Grand Ballroom 3 days ago. Service is top notch and immaculate, clearly shows how the team has been well drilled and trained as Ladies and Gentlemen.
Special shout out to the salesperson Oreo who has been very accommodating to our multiple last minute requests and thus contributed to our event success! Kudos to him and the banquet service team. Hardware does need some updating that's probably long due given the wear and tear, but hey can't complain much during this challenging period.. Strongly recommend Oreo to anyone who wish to plan any annual dinners or year-end parties!

It was my first visit to The Ritz Carlton and Shanghai both, and this amazing hotel gave me unforgettable experiences which made me feel deep nostalgia to both.
At my arrival date, I felt fatigue so much because of annoying taxi drivers who continously touted though I said "no thanks" during the journey from Longyangload to Lujiazui. And terrible weather with fog like a monster also made me exhausted.
But after I entered to here, all my fatigues and annoyance were gone. From reception to housekeeper, all the people are such warmhearted. Even deluxe room with bad fog offers breathtaking view when you are in here.
With RC Pudong, I could feel like I'm a special lady because of superior service of ladies and gentlemen of here, and my 20th birthday could be celebrated perfectly.
High quality service, luxurious art-deco room, there is no reason to not choose this hotel if you want to feel best mood. Like magicians, you ladies and gentlemen provided best service since I have been born. Thanks to all the people in RC Pudong, including lady Smith and lady Nancy. And a lady gave me pretty cake♡
