Overall excellent! An upgrade to Ruby is worth it. The view from the room is gorgeous. Such a view may be common in a national park, but absolutely rare considering that it's just a 30-minute drive away from Shanghai. Facilities are new and upscale. The room is not huge but feels luxurious and cozy at the same time. Service is also topnotch. GSM Irine called after check-in and again after check-out to ask about my experience, displaying a high level of customer care. I never had a problem during my stay but if there were, I believe they'd handle it promptly. Highly recommended for a weekend retreat. The only thing that I see could be improved is the waiting time at the reception in peak times. The number of reception desks is probably designed corresponding to the number of guest rooms. However, because most guests here stay for only one or two nights, the traffic at the reception can be several times busier than that of a business hotel with the same number of rooms.

We went there for a long weekend. the hotel has a unique architecture and the buffet restaurant is pretty good. Price & value it is probably on the high site as for this rate you can get a nice Shanghai Bund room. We stayed at club floor, “ the club” itself it’s just pretty basic like a restaurant with a few tables. The one thing which for us was very odd is that after the stay we got a call from an Intercontinental employee whether we can provide a feedback and where asked to provide a 9 or 10 rating in a survey . Since I did not commit to that I did not receive the IHG questionnaire after the call - surprising that IHG needs to play this kind of approach to get “good ratings

As a IHG platinum member, this last four hours could easily be the worst 4 hours I have had in any hotel. 1) i checked in at around 3:15pm, the lineup at the hobby was chaotic, to say the least, i waited there for 15 mins before someone helped me. 2) The room assigned was at one end of the building, i asked the staff to switch to another one, she said she can't do it, even after she confirmed the hotel is not full. 3) I asked for help to setup the TV, it took me 2 phone calls and a 20 mins wait before a staff came to my room. 4) He wore his shoe and walk right in when two of my kids are barefoot, running around the room. 5) I called again and asked for a pair of slippers for my kids, it took another 10 mins. 6) I am sitting at one of the restaurant for dinner as I typed this comment. It took a manager and two staff in order for me to get an extra bowl of rice. I don't know what i should expect in the next two days, can't of hard to imagine this could get worst!

This hotel is beautiful amd the feat of engineering it took to build this place is amazing. We had incredible food at the Chinese restaurant as well as the seafood restaurant Mr Fisher. Everyone was lovely, kind and accommodating. The rooms are beautifully furnished and well appointed. One of the nest stays in Shanghai yet !
