1. Most staff members were OK, the bar boy on top floor & housekeeping were friendly, but one of the Front Desk member was rude despite minutes ago I witnessed a super friendly conversation being held with a white guest (sorry I that I am using colour term here, but I didn't pay attention to his accent). Suspect it's because...

This place is ok. Stayed here through the dragon trip and we were all split up into different rooms which was a bit annoying. Dormitories are clean with good showers and AC and even though the beds are large, the mattresses are quite thin. Wifi connection is generally good. Rooftop bar is nice although a little expensive, they have a...

The room and the location was fine. The reason i would never stay there again was because they had a pet rabbit in a cage up in the bar who was majorly stressed. You could see the rabbit knawing at the cage and in obvious stress. I contacted the staff/management of the hostel in regards to this matter and they...

Unbeatable location, all kinds of dining options within 100m of the hostel, incredibly nice staff, nice and clean rooms and even well-priced restaurant and (not so well-priced) roof bar within the hostel - go for it!

The hostel is weel located in Shanghai, close to people park and subway. The personal is very nice with a good english. The room are OK, wifi is working. Around the hostel you have a lot of restaurants and shop. Good place not to spend to much money for a room.

I stayed in the 8 bed mixed dorm, cant complain at all. Very clean, fresh bedding on arrival, ensuite toilet and shower which were both good. It was super cheap too, about £7 a night. Staff are super friendly and speak very good english. Location is amazing too, everything is within walking distance and if something isn't, there are loads...

it is very clean and the price-performance ratio is suitable. beds are quite comfy for chinese standards. staff can speak english. i recommend to book in advance as they are always full. Moreover, use their airport service. Its only 200kuai and can be shared with others.

This hostel has a great location within walking distance to the Bund, Nanjing Rd, and other central locations. It's also very close to a couple of different metro lines. The restaurant downstairs has decent Chinese food at good prices and the bar upstairs has nice views of Shanghai. I would skip the 'breakfast' offered on the rooftop though - mediocre...

The room was good and the street had amazing street food just outside the door. The biggest downside was people were allowed to smoke in the rooms so for us non-smokers it required us to crack our window all day to avoid the slight smell of cigarettes in our room. The western style toilets were worth the price for us...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
