We have our family vacation to Shanghai and I booked several hotels so we have several options just in case we did not like the hotel rooms. I booked 2 rooms initially at JinJiang inn East Asia hotel along Nanjing Pedestrian Street but I did not make a deposit on any of my bookings. We arrived early 2 AM in...

Thisis a surprise gem - a reasonably low cost hotel in the best area in town. Single room, double or superior double or a suite are the options and I spent 4 nights in a superior double. Right outside the door is Nanjing Road East with all of the hussle and bussle, I ran along the bund in the mornings...

Being a foreigner in China is very difficult especially in finding hotels that could take you in in such a very short notice. I can't locate the hotel where my friend booked me and it was getting late. While walking along the famous Walking Street in Shanghai, I chanced upon this quaint hotel and asked if they have a room...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
