I have stayed at this hotel twice now and like it very much. Good location to shopping and restaurant’s. I found that some of the front desk clerks do speak English which is very helpful. We have used this hotel as our home base as we travel around the different cities near Shanghai so the location is good. The gym...

To begin with i must mention that Shanghai is a huge city & it is very important for a visitor to determine beforehand which area he needs to stay to best suit their purpose. It was our last day in Shanghai & thus reserved for shopping around West Nanjing Metro Stn which has stores like H&M, Uniqlo,M&S, Isetan & also...

This hotel is very nice. The room is huge, the bed is big and the bathroom too. One thing I didnt like was that the lighting of the room in general is dim. As for the location, It is 10 minutes walk at least from the shopping streets. The staff was nice and the breakfast good.

My hotel room lock seemed kind of damaged and the room was awfully cold. The hotel customer service and concierge had an air of reluctance and avoidance. You have to be really forceful to get a small request across to them. Furthermore, they seemed prejudiced against their own kind - Chinese race from abroad.

The hotel is quite good. The rooms are very large, beds are king size and comfortable, . Location is relatively central ( 10 minutes to Nanjing metro station), although many construction sites nearby alters the aspect of the neighborhood. Not very good breakfast , although quite expensive.

Stayed here for 3 nights, my 5th/6th stay over the last 5 years. Under new ownership and you can certainly tell... The staff are relatively unengaging and not particularly friendly. Food quality has slipped too, I was always able to rely on the decent quality breakfast here but the staff are very slow, dont offer coffee or tea refils unless...

i called the hotel before booking my stay to ask if they had an indoor pool. they answered affirmative and i booked my stay. i arrived 4 days later and they told me the swimming pool and gym were closed for renovation. the staff instead said i will get free coke and sprite...which is really the polar opposite of exercise!...

The hotel is quite central...5 to 10 minutes walk from a nice area where the subway station is (West Nanjing Road station). It's 2 stations from Xintiandi and about 20 minutes from the Bund by metro. The hotel is a little weird as it is also called "Acme". They are selling rooms for residential condos (serivced apartments). There is no...

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
Jing'an
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.

“There is a Starbucks on the ground floor which is very convenient BUT the star is the bakery around the corner - Remelt. Great baked goods and good coffee and tea. The breakfast was Y18 with coffee and 1 baked item (around $3 USD). Get a higher floor room if you can. Take the subway as it is only about 10 mins away.”
