I reached out to make my booking only less than a week prior my stay and Peter was extremely accommodating. Chai Living tended to special requests I've made (e.g. asking for an iron for the room and requesting a beautiful view) and also ensured there...More
We have been several times in contact with Peter before coming there and Peter was always helpful. Our internal flight has been delayed of several hours and Kare has been so kind until we got there at 4:40 am in the morning. We discovered a...More

This art deco building will take you by surprise. Loving and artistically done apartments keeping a very modern and contemporary interior look with all the mod cons you would need. Love the view from the windows of Shanghai. Unfortunately only for stays longer than 3...More
History oozes out of every fiber of the city, but Hongkou is a particularly notable neighborhood. Shanghai was a safe haven for about 20,000 Jews during the Second World War, and traces of this heritage can still be found in buildings and park monuments. Historic foreign relations aside, this neighborhood throws you into traditional Shanghainese life without taking you too far away from the city center. Some of
the city’s best-preserved, ancient longtangs (laneway communities) and shikumen (Shanghainese lanehouses) are still in use as actual residences here. If you like to be surrounded by local faces, Hongkou is a great area to spend your time in. The football stadium, Duolun Lu and the North Bund area await should you need some entertainment.

We are still at the planning stage but my daughter and I are looking for base to use where we will go to Beijing for a few days then back to Shanghai then to Xian and back to shanghai. It will probably be in April. My grandson may join us for a couple of nights. I though this looked flexible. Am I right?
