Very helpful staff, beautifully appointed hotel situated near the airport with shuttle. We we appreciated the responsive service on a tiring travel trip. We had an authentic meal late in the evening. Our room was restful with many small amenities. Excellent choice.

In contrast to the "rundown" Ramada Freeway hotels in the USA, this hotel has undergone a makeover of rooms since I last stayed here in 2012. Good standard of room furnishings, reasonably wide choice of western food at breakfast alongside traditional Chinese offering. After a week of Chinese dinner banquets it was nice to be able to choose some simple Western food for dinner and breakfast before my flight back to the UK.

Taking the MAGLEV to downtown to Longyang road from here is no longer the great experience - train is limited to 300km/hr and is now slower than the newer the high speed rail lines.

Hotel is nice, the rooms are big and comfy, but somebody came in to lock the mini bar, because we said at the check in we do not need it, It's very rude to enter guest rooms without knocking and with your own key!
Other than that, it is very close to the airport, the shuttle just needs a couple of minutes.
The breakfast is great, a lot of options, even sushi, but the price was about 40$ per person.

Always choose this hotel when flying early out from Shanghai. Free shuttle is provided. Spacious and clean room. Restaurant serve good food. The bar is located in the reception area and serves beers and cocktails. Used to be very busy but when I was there very quite. Due to early departure no breakfast was taken.

I’ve been traveling in and out of China for 15 years and usually stay at this hotel on the way out because I have been traveling in and out of China for 15 years and have often stayed at the Ramada on my way out because it is so close to the airport.

Nearly every time I stay here, I have a bad experience checking in. This is the only hotel in China where I EVER have a bad experience checking in. I don’t understand it.

This time was exceptionally bad. The front desk would not accept my health code sticker from WeChat, even though it covered the last two weeks of travel in China and was green.

I’ve been in China for the last 90 days and undergone COVID testing 8 times. The customers accept my WeChat health code, the restaurants accept the code, the 5 other hotels I have stayed at accept the code, the two Shanghai hospitals I tested at accept the code, but this hotel staff (and manager) were too dense to accept it.

They wanted me to use a Shanghai specific health code that is from Alipay. Of course Alipay requires a ChInese phone number and a ChInese bank card to verify identity and set up the account - which a foreigner can’t get. So it is impossible.

I passed COVID testing in a Shanghai hospital not 20 minutes from the hotel not 24 hours prior to check-in. I showed them the test results in ChInese. They didn’t care. The wanted my taxi receipt. They wanted my last hotel receipt. Evidently my passport with entry stamp wasn’t good enough for them. They gave me irrelevant paperwork to sign that was for travelers arriving in China instead of exiting, and I couldn’t get them to understand that I was leaving China and the paperwork was not applicable.

Luckily I contacted my company’s EHS representative who I had given my ChInese mobile phone to before leaving for the hotel. She was able to get the “required” green code from Alipay and send me a screenshot - which, by Shanghai city policy, they are not supposed to accept.

After that circus act, I found the temperature in the room to be 32 degrees C, with no way to cool it down. No A/C and no way to open a window. As I type this, I am sweating in my room with the thermostat turned OFF and the door to the hallway wide open, listening to maintenance guys yell at each other in ChInese over the radio in the hallway outside the room.

Really awful. I’m done with this hotel. Unless my flight leaves at 0700 in the morning, I’m not coming back.

The stay itself was fine. Nothing within walking distance, but the hotel restaurant and bar were acceptable. When I returned to the US, I noticed a bogus charge on my credit card from the hotel and when I call to ask about it they hang up. The charge isn't large ($45 USD) and I suspect they do this to other international travelers who just pay the charge to avoid the hassle of disputing it.
I can't recommend staying here because of that experience.

There is no point to stay at airport hotel that provides only hourly shuttle service. If you miss the shuttle bus, a VIP shuttle service is purposefully set next to the hotel shuttle waiting point and charge you 160CNY for a two-minute ride. You can't even get a taxi to there - too short distance for them to drive.

Staff were plesent but hamstrung by working with a physically poor hotel. This hotel is very tired it claims it was revamped 2008 but must have been to a low standard. Several power sockets do not work, AC does not work, Shower water is cold. I had them move to another room and it was the same. This Hotel is one to avoid it appears to be a franchise and Ramada need to step in and sort this hotel out . Its rating at 4 star is a joke I have stayed in many better hotel 3star in China internation and domestic in both Shanghai and many other cities. My advise is to avoid this hotel unless desperate and willing to ruff it and pay to much.

I reserved a night in the Ramada Plaza Pudong, which was unfortunate because the hotel I really wanted to stay in was the Ramda Plaza Shanghai Pudong Airport - a different hotel. So not a good start.

Room was comfortable enough. Unusually, the restaurant was OVER-staffed, with half a dozen serving people milling around, some not doing very much. In spite of that, service and food were no better than adequate.

There are a few strange smells here and there, a circular table tennis table in the basement and robots which are supposed to deliver room service.

The recorded music in the bar and restaurant is totally inappropriate. It's odd how you never notice something like this unless it's wrong. And the music was very very wrong.

Traveling on business and felt this would be a good place to stay as it is near the airport. I wish I had read some reviews, this place is a dump. It’s old, nasty and in poor condition.
Upon check in the person who helped me was not helpful, not nice and appeared to have zero ability to do their job.
The room is dirty, the bed poorly made and dust everywhere.
The internet is very slow and room service was ok.
Do not stay here you will wish you hadn’t.

This is a good airport hotel. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Our only issue was the room was very hot as the a/c was turned off for the winter. Good spot to stay for a layover at PVG. Also nice to have the airport shuttle, which we used both to and from the airport.
