I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights whilst visiting my son who lives in the area. I found it to be clean and comfortable with friendly staff and a reasonable breakfast. My only criticism is that it boasts a gym which is an exaggeration - there are a few pieces of equipment in a room off the Spa, it...

I would say this is a decent hotel for business stay. The rooms are clean and spacious, and there is a very quiet lounge for a drink and some music at night. Opposite the hotel is a shopping mall, 889, and there are some good restaurants there, such as Wagas. In fact, besides the mall, there are also other shops...

The hotel was clean with friendly, helpful staff. All in reception speak english. Location was further away from the Exhibition center than advertised but with Metro and Bus reachable in short time. Very quiet area with limited shops and restaurants around.

A very busy hotel in central Shanghai - has seen better days and looks in need of refurbishment but is comfortable and with all the required facilities. Very popular with foreign tour groups and the Breakfast restaurant is really much too small to accommodate everybody trying to pile in during the peak periods. Rooms a reasonable size but the bed...

Stayed here for business as part of a large group. Decent sized room on 22nd floor with usual facilities. Air conditioning system wasn't working properly so it would only blow out cold air - not too helpful for drying monsoon-washed clothes! Room had been updated to an extent but bathroom was tired and mildewy. Breakfast was an eclectic mix of...

A fairly standard clean, comfortable hotel in the centre of the city. The beds were a little on the hard side but not too bad. Although air conditioned, we didn't seem to have much control over the temperature so turned it off and opened the window. We had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on that. Had dinner in...

Due to some miscommunication, I had to find a hotel for a day while in Shanghai. Using cellphone (baidu app), just pick this hotel since its near the place I needs to be and also had deal ($76 per night). I booked at 8am and check in around 10am. It's a one bed room, very clean and western style. It's...

Stayed here for 2 days in a single room. It seems they have just 2 single rooms (so we were told) in each floor. When we reached the room, realised the reason...its a long narrow room that won't fit a double bed!! Anyways the room was comfortable with a nice desk. The room had a old world feel because of...

The hotel is clean, comfortable and near the shopping mall and restaurants. It serves both Chinese and western breakfast. Since the weather is cool at night, the room temperature is preset and I cannot turn the temperature down. It can be rather warm at night since I enjoy colder weather. I usually turned off the temperature control and open the...

Spent two nights here when we first arrived in Shanghai and I found it comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast at the main floor restaurant was a buffet for breakfast that included western and asian dishes including omelettes and fried eggs. Fresh fruit was available but limited. WiFi was not very fast but I was able to communicate on FaceTime...

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
