My wife Helen and I returned to Tokoriki Island Resort for our 23rd visit in May. "Why 23 times?" you might ask. We travel a lot all over the world and some years ago we happened upon Tokoriki Island Resort and just fell in love with it. I remember sitting outside our beachfront bure on our first night enjoying a cocktail and looking out across the sea at the sunset and saying "This is Paradise". Since then the resort has continually been impoved, uprgraded and made even more beautiful. But it has never lost it incomparable friendliness and welcome - as the locals say "Welcome home" - and it truly is our home away from home and our chance to veg out in luxurious surrounding every year - sometimes more.
I have to admit we are particluarly choosy abut where we stay when away from home and always stay at 5 star hotels. But in a place like Fiji, we want the mix of quality but also want to be in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the famous Fijian hospitality. Tokoriki has been able to find that balance perfectly
The accomodartion is Fijian style and quite luxurious. We usually stay in one of the Beachfront Pool Villas which are fabulous with seperate bedroom and living room, large deck with a day bed and plunge pool right on the beach overlooking the sea.
The staff, many of whom reside on the neighborouring island of Yanuya are so welcoming and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. We are terribly spoilt.
The Reosrt is set amongst spectacular gardens and beautiful white sand beaches. The food is excellent under the dierction of Chef Thomas and his team.
We have certainly visited other luxury island resorts in the region and around the world, but nothing can match the Tokoriki atmosphere and warmth. The owners the Turnbull family, and managers Robert and Patrice are incredibly attentive and committed to maintinig high standards and making sure that guests enjoy a memorable experience at the resort.
I enjoy scuba diving and have dived at various places around Fiji and elsewhere. But I do most of my diving at Tokoriki Resort where the Dive shop operated by Will Wragg and Alex Garland is as good as it gets. Their attention to detail, organisation and planning is meticulous. The dive equipmwent is first class and regularly renewed. Their team of dive masters and drivers etc are fantastic and a lot of fun - Kale, Save, Sam, Epeli and Joe are all very professional and make for a fun and safe diving experience. The diving is relaxed an easy due to the professionalism of the Tokoriki dive team. There are many spectacular dive sights close by and always plenty to see.
No question - we will be returning to Tokoriki Island Resort for our 24th visit very soon!

We stayed at Tokoriki Island Resort in May 2023 & really enjoyed our stay.

The room was fantastic, very spacious & really nicely decorated!
We had the standard garden bure without the plunge pool, which didn't seem worth the extra cost to us personally, since each bure has it's only semi-private garden down to the beach anyway.

We particularly enjoyed the deck area outside our room with loungers to sit & watch the sunset & also the hammock in the garden.

The pool & restaurant area is also lovely & the staff are 5 star+, being both extremely friendly & professional at the same time.

As others have said the food is also great & the ambience at night with the fire torches, guitar singers & level of service is top notch. All guests also get to dine in the Japanese restaurant one evening, which we particularly enjoyed as they have 8 guests around the same table as the chef cooks in front of you & they are very good at getting everybody talking & getting to know one another.

The garden between the restaurant & rooms was also beautifully manicured it really did feel like a tropical paradise.

The only very slight negatives we felt (& these are more just suggestions to improve the overall experience given the cost per night, but are in no way dealbreakers), is to clean / renovate the boats that take you from the ferry to the dock & also provide internet in the rooms.

Regarding the boats we totally understand that they are open to the elements & therefore the hulls get dirty & tired over time, but as a comparison we have stayed at cheaper resorts of similar quality in Asia & French Polynesia etc & the boats were much newer & in better condition that those used at Tokoriki. Of course this is no big deal, but it just creates an overall better impression of the resort if your first experience of arriving there is clean / new boats to take you to the shore.

Re the internet, again we completely understand the resorts policy on allowing guests to switch off by not having WiFi in the rooms, but we felt this was perhaps used as a bit of an excuse as it's easier for the hotel not to have routers / boasters throughout the island.

Don't get me wrong we are middle-aged & not desperate to be on the internet, but by only providing internet around the lobby / restaurant area, it meant that at certain times of the day everybody was checking their phones before / after & during dinner, which they wouldn't have had to do if they could have checked periodically in their own rooms.

Also we are all adults so surely we can decide if we want to switch off from the web or not when we are on holiday so let the guests make that decision rather than enforcing it?

Please don't see this a criticism as such & overall we loved our stay at Tokoriki & would return again in a heartbeat, but they are a couple of little suggestions which we feel would take the hotel to even better levels of excellence.

Tokoriki Island Resort is a honeymooner's paradise!!! Impeccable service made us feel like family, while the exquisite, fine-dining-style meals were a culinary delight. The pristine beach and the option to book a picnic on a private beach added a touch of magic.

Don't miss the spa experience – a hidden gem at Tokoriki. It's the perfect way to unwind and relax! Personalized attention from the friendly staff, along with the intentional lack of TV and limited internet, allowed us to disconnect and savor every moment in this island haven. Our stay was pure bliss, and we're already planning our return. Highly recommended!

Vinaka vakalevu, Tokoriki Family!

We finally returned to Fiji following 2 years of COVD lockup in Melbourne. Back for the 21st time to Tokoriki Island resort - our piece of Paradise.

We obviously love this place and it has evolved over the years to become a prefered destination for many people and rated at the top of the list for luxury reports in Fiji.

But what we didn't expect was the extraodinary uplift across the entire resort whivh just blew us away. The resort gardens were lush and green and in beautifiul condition - just breathtaking. The Tokoriki team from the management down have always been unbelivably helpful and friendly but there seemed to be a new energy and spirit that prevayed everyone and that transferred to the guests reuslting in an atmosphere that was so enjoyable. Tokoriki has a soul that other resorts just cannot match.

But the big change was the food. Chef Ash and his team with support of Greg presented a menu that was interesting, unique and of the very highest quality. The menu changed daily and the dishes were superb in both taste and presentation.

I started diving at Tokoriki many years ago and love it. I have dived at many other places but the professionalism and friendliness of Will and his team is outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble and the numerous diving sites close the island are intersting and offer planty of variety. I can't praise these guys enough, it is diving at its best.

Our accomodation was a beach front Pool Bure that was situiated close to the beach so easy to stroll 20 metres ot so to the water's edge. We had a deck overlooking the water between the palm trees and a plunge poll to cool off from a lie in the sun. The bure is well apppointed and very comfortable consisting of a combined bed and sitting room, a dressing room, bathroom, shower room and outside shower. All most adequate. There are also more sumptuous villas with day beds a seperate lounge rooms where have stayed as well.

We have stayed at a number of luxury island island resorts in Fiji, in plenty are very nice places to stay. But nothing compares with Tokoriki in terms of the total package and, in particular, the culture and soul of the place that is simply unique.

Tokoriki is the epitomy of your dream Pacific island paradise stay. We ca't wait to go again.

The beachfront burre we stayed in was exactly as in the pictures. We had a single bed brought in for my 16 year old son and it fit neatly and did not feel crowded. The burre was cleaned every day and the staff always put fresh flowers in the small water pool by the front and out the back. There were always nice touches in the room for turndown service. The activities were fun and plentiful, basket weaving, story telling, crab races, snorkling, cocktail tasting to name a few. The resort was full but we felt secluded when we wanted to be and could find company when we wanted that as well. The thing that made our trip was the staff, the were so warm and welcoming. They knew all the guests by names and it really created a special environment. The singing (band) added great atmosphere and they did fun twists on well known songs as well as playing Fijian music. The food was very good in quality and variety with local and international options and the staff was very accommodating for any requests like dairy free etc. We are hoping to return again next year, it was magical.

If you are looking for a personalized, luxurious, amazing vacation...Tokoriki is your best bet. The diving was divine, the food was absolutely amazing, the snorkeling off the shore was fabulous, the bures were completely comfortable and private, and the guest services staff was absolutely the best.
We are senior divers, and our dive staff was excellent. Will's Dive
Shop responded to all of my pre-trip requests, and the dive staff provided us with personalized diving agendas. Save (pronounced Sah'-vey) made sure we were safe, comfortable, and that we had excellent new equipment for each of our dives. They worked with us to have a dive schedule/profile that we were very comfortable with. For many of our dives we had our own divemaster. The reefs are so healthy - you won't believe the colors of the coral - and we enjoyed morning diving and the afternoon snorkeling boat trips. My husband requested the larger tanks for our dives and the dive shop was able to provide him with those. You must see the giant clams!!
We opted for the speedboat transfers to Tokoriki Island rather than the helicopter transfers. The food was amazing. The menus featured fresh island fare and the flavors were so good. I never knew I loved fresh carrot and turmeric breakfast juice!
The infinity pool provided incredible sunset views. Our bure had a private plunge pool and a wonderful private outdoor shower. We loved the private hammock under the trees and our private path to the beach! The beds and pillows were perfect!
If you are looking for the number one destination in the South Pacific, you are looking for Tokoriki Island Resort. You'll be greeted by name when you arrive, and you'll be greeted by name throughout your stay. Vincent was an excellent host, and the rest of the attendants provided all the personalized treatment we could have imagined. The entire resort has only 36 bures, so the resort never has more than 72 guests. We most highly recommend Tokoriki Island Resort, and we are already planning our next trip!

Where to begin? From the moment we stepped onto the island, we were showered with kindness, warmth, and the most genuine hospitality ever experienced.

The island is overcome with natural beauty and is surrounded by the most crystal clear waters. The grounds were absolutely pristine with stunning landscaping and flowers lining the walkways. The beaches are pristine and the feeling you get looking out into the ocean is unmatched. Our Beachfront Pool Bure was perfect with no detail left unturned. We travel a lot and every now and then come across hotels where they add 1-2 "extra touches," but our stay at Tokoriki felt like all of those touches we've come across over the years were combined to create the most perfect stay.

There are too many details to name, but a few that stood out:
1. No WiFi in the common area during meal times. What a perfect way to completed unplug from the world and enjoy the company of your loved ones.
2. Small details like beach mats outside the bure, foot bath in the deck area when coming back into the bure, fresh flowers left in the room every day, turn down service with slippers and floor mat on each side of bed. Just some small touches that made our stay so carefree.
3. Everyone remembered our names. I don't know how they do it, but within the first few hours of our stay, everyone we encountered knew our names and would greet us all over the property.
4. The smoothest cappuccinos in the morning with the best tasting cookie ever. Forgot to ask if it was homemade or if its a local brand!?
5. The food. We never got tired of the menu as it was constantly changing with new, inventive choices. The food was fresh and flavorful and definitely did not disappoint. I think I had the Tokoriki Sandy Ice Cream every chance I got.

A special thanks to:

Vincent for going above and beyond to help extend our stay when we decided to cancel the final portion of our trip and stay longer at Tokoriki. We never wanted to leave, but hope to be back again someday!

Alice for her kindness during our beachfront anniversary dinner and for asking us if we were missing any type of food from home, then seeing it 'magically' appear on the lunch menu the next day! Thank you, Chef Ashim for making us feel at home and taking suggestions for the menu!

Peroni for making us feel at home the entire time from beginning to end and for educating us on the history of Fiji and the beautiful Mamanuca Islands

Kris and Mama for always bringing a smile to our face during meals and for their attentive service. You both have such contagious smiles!

Moses and the band boys for their lovely music and vocals

Simi and Manu

We were second time returnees to Tokoriki Island Resort, a very long time after our first stay. It was lovely to see some familiar faces after all this time.

It is very hard to say anything that has not been said about this resort in previous reviews, so to sum it up, it is exactly as others have said, if you want to stay at a fantastic resort with amazing staff and wonderful food then this is the place to stay. What sets it apart is the warmth you feel from the staff and the belief that you truly are more than your room number.

We enjoyed the complimentary snorkeling from the resort. We also did two paid activities, a trip to Mondriki Island, which was very enjoyable, and we also did the couples trip to the Sand Cay/Island by Mana Island. This was our second snorkel trip to the sand cay and we definitely recommend this, it is fantastic both in and out of the water.

To maximize our time at Tokoriki we opted for the helicopter transfers to and from the island and would again recommend this if the budget allows, as Fiji from the ground is amazing but Fiji from the air is spectacular.

We arrived to be greeted with a cheery and loud "Welcome Home!" and by the time we left it certainly felt like home!! There was an incredibly personal touch from the moment we arrived, given that 9 other couples arrived at the same time as us via the Cruise transfer each couple were checked in by individual members of staff who were attentive and knowledgeable before entertaining us with the Bula song. Liti answered any questions we had and gave us all of the information we could have possibly needed whilst showing us around the resort and giving us a full tour of our Bure. The addition of the Teppanyaki, oceanfront dinner and breakfast as part of the full board package were a nice surprise - the Teppanyaki evening is a great way to meet other couples and create connections while being entertained by the excellent staff in Ana and Alice.

The dive shop team provided some excellent excursions and their obvious expertise in the water during the various boat rides and snorkel trips made sure that all experiences felt safe and were extremely entertaining. Kale and Abu were great guides on the village and cast away experiences with their humour and personalities making all experiences truly memorable. The snorkel trips were incredible seeing the various sea life and coral but the standout experience was the private beach picnic!! 4 hours of uninterrupted bliss on your own private island will live long in the memory, there is something quite special about looking along your own private beach and seeing that the only footsteps in the sand are yours.

The food was excellent and something for everyone and even if there wasn't chef Thomas would cater to your needs. While the food was incredible the true highlight of this trip was the staff!! Every single member of staff would greet you with a beaming smile and a cheerful Bula!! From the cocktail tasting evenings with Niko, Lave and Reave to Kris and her wait staff attending to your every need at meal times and of course the entertainment of the band boys Moses, Thomasi, Mala, Lei and every other member of staff that joined in singing or jumping on the single string bass.

We couldn't have wished for a better start to married life than this honeymoon and it was all down to the incredible staff. As well as those that we have already mentioned we'd like to give our heartfelt thanks to Jimi, Sekeli, Jay, Kitti, Mita, Mere, Kali, Tusi, Talia, Dee, Queen V, Kara and Joe.

It is difficult to find the right words to describe this adults only, magnificent, luxurious & relaxing Resort. We arrived Nadi Airport mid afternoon & after an easy transfer to the Island Hoppers base we choppered to Tokoriki. This Chopper company are amazingly efficient, friendly and consider 'safety first' at all times. This is definitely the way to travel backwards & forwards to the Islands as it is fast & fun and you get to see the other islands & reefs. Safely on the ground and greeted with the usual friendly Fijian faces. Vincent escorted us to the main reception/greeting area for a welcome drink and welcome 'Bula' song. The Island is small and intimate with the most beautiful traditional Fijian decor in all areas and Bure's. We did spend 6 days at another Hotel on the mainland after Tokoriki but I won't be reviewing this as it was disappointing to say the least. Most hotels are replacing the beautiful traditional Fijian furnishings & architecture with modern decor. You could be anywhere in the world - but Tokoriki Island Resort does it beautifully and as it should be in Fiji. I broke my knee cap a few weeks before the trip and the staff accommodated me with a wheelchair and compassion. I was travelling with my husband, daughter and her partner (25/26 years old & we are 61) so we had two stunning 'Beachfront Pool Bure's' # 26 & #27 Wow... large,. comfortable and private accommodation overlooking the clear crystal lagoon, manicured lawn and gardens with the 'must have' plunge pool. Exquisite layout - king size bed, tea/coffee making facilities, small refrigerator, outdoor & indoor shower, double bathroom vanity, large white towels, ample wardrobe and hangers, luggage racks & occasional lounge chairs overlooking the pool/lagoon. We could not have asked for anything else. This place is truely perfect. We chose 1/2 board for us and full board for my daughter and partner. 1/2 board included breakfast & Dinner and full board included breakfast, Lunch and dinner. This worked perfectly for our family. You can chose to dine enjoying all meals on the outside terrace, around the main pool or in the main restaurant. All restaurant options have views of the beach & lagoon. Food created by the executive Chef - Ash was of an extremely high standard, varied & delicious. Prominently seafood however, nothing was too much trouble or impossible for the amazing staff and Chefs. From reception staff to water sports staff to dining and bar staff the smiles kept coming. I love Fiji. The Fijian people are the best & Tokoriki has the cream of the crop. Vincent was truly a wonderful & considerate manager. The night before our departure (did not want to leave this paradise) the staff sang the farewell Fijian song which brought my daughter to tears. We will most definitely visit Tokoriki Island Resort again

Hi, we were friendly with some LBGTQ+ guests at Tokoriki. Fiji in general tends to be very welcoming, although PDA's, by anyone, in local villages are inappropriate. We have also been to Royal Davui a couple of times and chatted to some LGBTQ+ guests who were staying there, and they certainly had gay staff. Unsure about Tokoriki in that respect but I wasn't really paying attention. Royal Davui also has excellent diving and their own dive operation. Slightly longer helicopter flight. I have read The Remote Resort is known for welcoming all guests. We haven't been there, but it's on our radar because of the diving. Fixed wing flight from Nadi then car and boat. In general, I'd expect there's no issues in Fiji. Fiji is really good at tourism, and although local villages have all sorts of rules (eg, modest dress), the people who work in resorts are well accustomed to the ways of kaivalagi :)

Hi there. It’s easy straight off the beach regardless if tides. The snorkelling is magnificent probably the best I’ve seen in Fiji.
