We loved our stay at Lomani. The peaceful, adults-only setting definitely contributed to a romantic atmosphere. The room was spacious and beautiful. Lots of included activities like snorkeling and dolphin watching. We also enjoyed using the kayaks and stand up paddle boards, or just lounging in a hammock or day bed by the pool. I recommend borrowing a bike and exploring the island a bit. Food at the restaurant was good, drink selection was excellent. Service was great overall (although some staff were better than others). The family resort next door is a noisy trailer park in comparison.
My wife and I just recently spent 7 days at Lomani Island Resort and we absolutely loved it! We stayed in room 18, which was one of the beach front bures, and it was so relaxing and serene. We stayed during the month of February which is the hot rainy season for Fiji, but here at Lomani it was still so nice! We had only three days where it rained for around an hour in the evenings just before dinner. The rest of the week was so incredible! When we arrived we were greeted by Saki who brought us some chilled coconuts while we were waiting to be shown to our rooms. He did an amazing job at making us feel welcome and went out of his way to help us get settled in even showing us to our room in the rain and giving us his umbrella. He was soaked by the time we got to our room and yet he stayed calm and continued to make us feel at home. He was always pleased to see us and was very helpful with whatever we needed. We were even able to chat to him on the way back to the main island on the Malolo Cat ferry and he was such a nice person even outside of work. The Flame Tree restaurant, which is the only restaurant in the resort, was delicious. Even though there is only one restaurant, it has many different options and they were all very good in our opinion. The prices weren’t too expensive for the meals either even for us who were on more of a budget. The service at the Flame Tree was also quite good even though sometimes there was a bit of a wait for water top ups when they were busy. In our opinion, they were just understaffed during the busy times. Regardless, the kitchen always surprised us with amazing tasting food, every time hot and smelling amazing. The daily trips they do during the week were also so cool! All of the snorkeling trips during the week were included in the stay and they were so fun. We managed to see 3 different reefs during the three trips we took, which was fun being able to explore multiple locations. We also went on a trip that we paid extra for to go out to Cloud 9; a pizza restaurant and bar that floats out in the middle of the ocean. That was delicious and beautiful! Would definitely recommend spending a bit extra to experience that. For all of these trips, we had two Lomani employees guiding us around and one was always there as skipper and his name was Jim. Jim did a great job of making us laugh and making us feel safe. He knew the ocean around the island very well. He was very approachable and answered all of our questions. He also went out of his way to show us different sea life throughout the 4 trips we went on with him. Without him we wouldn’t have seen a sea turtle or a sting ray while we were there. Definitely find him and get to know him for sure! Overall, the resort is beautiful and relaxing. It is an adults only resort so it is very peaceful and quiet. The private white sand beaches are gorgeous and there is too much to do even in one week. The staff were all very helpful, kind, and easy to talk to. We will always remember Lomani for being our honeymoon location but it was the employees at the resort and the amenities that made it even more memorable. We would definitely recommend this resort for those couples that want some peace and quiet on a white sand beach with beautiful private rooms. It is a very romantic and serene location that has everything you need for a memorable Fiji experience. …
Didn’t want to leave!!!! Everything about our week at Lomani Island Resort was AMAZING!!! Where do I start.....the staff were sensational - so very friendly and so very accommodating. The little touches like nightly turn down service and putting our umbrella up and down each day really made you feel looked after. Our room was perfect - we stayed in an oceanfront pool Bure and it was so worth the extra $$ to have our own private space to relax and enjoy some us time. The room was spacious and the outdoor area with plunge pool was a great space to switch off and enjoy the gorgeous sunsets each day. The resort itself is very spacious and well looked after everyday and while there were other people there - it often felt like we had it all to ourselves as the layout of the rooms, restaurant/bar and pool area is very well done so you are not on top of other guests. Adults only was a plus plus plus. Food was delicious from breakfast to dinner. The activities available were awesome - we snorkelled, rode bikes, sailed a hobie cat and much more. My husband took a boat out surfing everyday which was great - although the need to have a minimum 3 people to go out was frustrating initially - but by the last 2 days they relaxed that rule. We met some great people, we enjoyed a traditional kava ceremony, had a fabulous massage and absolutely loved every about Fiji Island life. For a couples getaway I would absolutely recommend Lomani. Vinaka to our Lomani family for making us feel so welcome and for making our stay stress free and so relaxing. …
I can’t say enough about the Lomani Island Resort. It is an adult only and very tranquil. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The activities are included and we went snorkeling everyday. The activity people are the best. Eating takes awhile but your on Fijian time so where are you going. If you haven’t been go and we will be back.
My wife and I were looking for a vacation spot for a week long Fiji visit on our way from San Francisco to Sydney. There are literally hundreds of resorts to choose from and we used Trip Advisor to eventually settle on Lomani Island Resort. What a great decision. Many times when searching for a resort, you see all these beautiful photos in their advertising and arrive at the resort only to realize the photos must have been taken 20 years ago and the resort itself does not live up to the photos. I can tell you with Lomani, it is more beautiful in person than it looks like in the photos. We stayed in a bure with a private plunge pool. The room itself was great - exceptionally clean and in great condition - it had direct beach frontage. The daily maid service kept everything sparkling clean. The resort is small (I think only about 33 rooms), and at times it seemed like we had the place to ourselves - nothing was ever crowded and we were often the only people in the pool or on the beach. The resort has a variety of daily activities (see photo for the list from the week we stayed there) - and most of them are at no cost. We took advantage of the daily snorkeling trip every day and were always delighted with the experience. Over the course of the week, we visited 5 different locations for snorkeling - each of them had a great variety of fish and coral to see. The staff were all very friendly and eager to please and make our experience the best. Too many names to mention all of them, but Meresiana and Ruci from the restaurant, and Jim, Daniel, and Bale from the water sports definitely stick in our minds, but really, from the initial reception right through to all of the landscape staff, all we saw were friendly faces and plenty of daily "Bula" greetings from everyone. The restaurant food was very good quality and well presented. The menu wasn't huge, but if you get tired of the food, there are two other resorts within an easy walk or bike ride (bikes are available for free for a daily ride around the island) where you can try different restaurants. Definitely a great resort experience that I can thoroughly recommend if you are looking for a bit of paradise!…
