Lomani Island Resort shimmers with elegance, a boutique adults only Fiji resort created especially for lovers. Speaking of which, “Lomani” is Fijian for “love”. Lomani Island Resort wins over guests with its inviting atmosphere, underscored by a melodious welcome and farewell that guests find touching. The service at the hotel garners universal acclaim for its warm and professional staff, who make visitors feel like part of the family. While the resort's value is generally appreciated, some travelers note that certain meals and experiences may not fully justify the cost. Amenities, including the pristine pools and complimentary snorkeling, are a hit, though occasional limited dining options and inconsistent Wi-Fi draw some criticism. The spacious and modern rooms receive high marks for their cleanliness and comfort.

We stayed at Lomani for 7 nights although felt that 5 probably would have been enough. We had a beachfront Pool Bure which was total luxury as it was extremely hot. We found the service throughout pleasant and helpful and the complimentary foot massage and 30 minute neck and head massage a winner, Salome did a great job.
The meals were tasty and varied, served in a relaxed and open restaurant near the swimming pool; we did however, find the service somewhat slow; bar service was excellent. The two gentlemen singers in the evening did a grand job and kept us well entertained. My husband enjoyed the daily snorkeling trips and together we enjoyed cruising among the dolphins. The room was extremely comfortable and well appointed but so dark that it was difficult to find anything in the evening.
The no under 16 policy provided a calm and peaceful atmosphere which pleased us and our fellow guests.
We left behind a pair of shorts and Reception took the trouble to contact us as we left on the ferry and then sent the shorts on the next ferry for us to collect at the Denerau Marina which we did.
I would highly recommend this resort.

The staff at Lomani resort are wonderful and made our holiday truly very special and memorable. The staff are like a family and we’re all incredibly welcoming and friendly.

I would describe Lomani resort as a beautiful boutique resort on Malolo Lailai, with only 33 rooms and adults only it really makes for a very quiet and relaxing resort , beautifully kept grounds and gardens. I recommend the Beachfront Pool Bure, it’s lovely to have your own private plunge pool to dip into during the heat of the day. The rooms have indoor and outdoor showers with the Pure Fijian products & Premium Fijian coffee provided in the rooms both which are a nice touch. The bed was so comfy and the linen and the towels looked new and good quality.

I love the included activities, which included traditional Fijian weaving, village tour and daily snorkelling to nearby reefs which was excellent. We did a dolphin safari one day and saw a pod of dolphins. You can also request optional paid activities and we paid to do a 4 hour deep sea fishing trip which was excellent. The Lomani resort Chef cooked the fish we caught and made the most amazing Fijian style fish lunch which tasted out of this world.

We found overall the meals at the resort were served quickly and meals were served hot. Food was well presented and I loved the Fijian style dishes such as Kokoda . Cocktails were excellent. Every evening you had the most amazing live acoustic music and some nights there was a show of Fijian style traditional song and dance.

The Beach is tidal but when the tide is out swim in the pool , or have a relaxing Fijian bobo massage and when the tide is in swim in the crystal clear azure waters.

This is the tropics so don’t forget the mosquito repellent and sunscreen.

You won’t want to leave!

Vinaka Vakalevu Lomani !!

We recently stayed 5 nights at Lomani Resort. As you arrive on the island, you are greeted with sea shell lays and a traditional Fijian song. There is an electric vehicle to transport you to the resort.

When you arrive at the resort, the staff provide you with a fresh coconut water (nice touch!) and warm hand towels and a comfortable ocean view seat for a relaxing atmosphere to complete registration.

We opted not to do the meal plan as there was a few other resorts on the island to provide flexibility and variety.

The bar, restaurant and beachfront bures are gorgeous and upscale. The bathroom was really nice as it offered an indoor and outdoor shower. The rooms were very spacious and nicely arranged with furniture. The deck was covered and we had a private pool with an outdoor bed and lounge chairs by the beach, while offering plenty if privacy between bures. The swimming pools and main pool were extremely warm and not refreshing during the heat of the day.

They provided two large bottles of Fiji water per day, but charged $8.50 if you wanted water with a meal : (

Laundry service was complimentary and an added bonus as we were travelling for three weeks. They provided a turn down service nightly and supplied chocolate chip cookies.

The internet was extremely slow, so we paid $10 per day for faster speed.

Their daily activities were outstanding, especially the snorkelling…..it was amazing and they take you to different reefs each day.

My husband went deep sea fishing and caught a six foot reef shark!!

Breakfasts orders were consistently wrong. For example, I ordered eggs Benedict with salmon lox on a croissant and I received eggs on toast. Everyday the breakfast orders were incorrect, which was frustrating but not the end of the world. When you stay at higher end resorts typically your expectations of service should match the appearance of the resort.

Lots of bugs at dusk, so be sure to use lots of bug spray (supplied) especially at dinner or you will be eaten alive. The hundreds of frogs all over the resort (evenings) was also a surprise, but they mitigate the bug population.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the daily activities, including the use of paddleboards, kayaks, snorkel gear and bicycles that were complimentary.

My wife and I have just spent a wonderful week at Lomani Resort. We are regular visitors to the resorts on Fijian islands and because we had enjoyed our time on Lomani a few years previously we decided to revisit. We were certainly not disappointed in our decision to return. Lomani is an adults only resort and as a consequence there is a feeling of peace and quiet that you don’t always get at family resorts. This feeling begins the moment that you are driven onto the manicured grounds we you first arrive.
There are a few different levels of accommodation at Lomani, although truthfully all levels are extremely well appointed. We stayed in one of the beach front bures. It is very large, comfortable and private. These bures have their own yards from which you can walk straight into the water. As a result the views are magnificent.
We both love the water and are keen snorkelers so this resort suits us very well. Each morning the resort offers its guests a complementary snorkeling boat trip to various nearby reefs, and these outings were very popular. And of course the house reef, while a little damaged in areas, is still worth exploring. Most afternoons we would spend a couple of hours following the reef drop off points. As house guests we had free use of all water craft gear, so we’d frequently take out kayaks, stand up paddle boards etc.
We had a package at Lomani which included breakfast and dinner which suited our needs perfectly. For lunch we’d either get something light at the restaurant or, as we did a couple of times, hop on the resort’s bikes and ride over to one of the neighbouring resorts to see what they had to offer. Many guests, however, ordered light snacks from the restaurant and ate them in comfort next to the pool.
The key ingredient for Lomani’s success, I believe, is their staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we were made to feel like welcome friends. The reputation that Fiji and Fijians have in general for being friendly and welcoming is best exemplified by Lomani resort. My wife and I are already planning our third visit there.

The Lomani Island Resort is an adult-only enclave of oceanfront tranquility.

The property features 30 rooms and most are standalone bures stretching along the shore and all face the ocean. Lomani is often sold out; advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Rooms are quite large with a neutral color palette of dark wood, tan upholstery with pops of color in tropical fabric pillows and artwork. Doors and windows are not sealed as tightly as they could be to keep out pesky mosquitoes. But this IS the tropics. Critters are a normal and essential part of the ecosystem.

All rooms include complimentary wi-fi, full buffet or sit down breakfast, wash, dry and fold laundry service, use of kayaks, stand up paddle boards, windsurfers, bicycles, snorkeling equipment, salt water swimming pool, free poolside cabanas and every guest receives a complimentary 15 minute foot massage at the intimate spa.

Complimentary tours/activities include outer reef snorkeling trip, dolphin safari tour, guided village tour, guided island tour, hand line fishing trip, coconut husking demonstration, kava ceremony, etc. Note: some activities are seasonal and others are offered once a week, based on weather and tides.

If i had to point to a downside, it would be the uneven food quality at Lomani's attractive restaurant, the Flame Tree Grill. Breakfast and lunch are casual affairs with salads, sandwiches and a few hot entrees. Would prefer a lighter hand with mayo, but asking for it on the side is an easy fix. Dinner aspires to be a more elevated experience with evening entertainment and upscale menu. Most of the specials were good, however we found dinner portions larger than they need to be and menu leans toward rich and heavy sauces. A lighter healthier fare with fresh herbs, salsas and citrus drizzle vs. cream sauces and canola oil might be more in keeping with the tropical vibe.

Finally, of all of the perks and beauty of the site, Lomani's greatest asset is their staff. Soft spoken and kind, their genuine warmth and gracious hospitality is utterly charming. It was hard to say goodbye and is well worth another visit.

Hubby and I have been to Fiji more times than we can count and also stayed on Malolo Lailai island dozens of times but never at Lomani - boy we are so glad we now have! It is 'adults only' so no screaming kids doing bombs in the pool! Speaking of which, the pool is gorgeous and never packed! We went snorkling, diving and had massages/facial. The breakfasts were delicious and so much food! Continential and hot. The staff are wonderful, friendly and efficient and we felt really welcome. Our room had a plunge pool, which was lovely to spend a bit of time in every day. Our room was beautiful, kept clean daily along with a lot of water delivered as well. I will say its not a cheap place, in fact we were quite shocked the cocktails were 29 fiji dollars each - but I believe that is the going rate at most of them - so a day by the pool hitting the cocktail list will put you back a lot. The Spa in its current state lets the resort down, its one tiny room with two beds squeezed between a couple of guest rooms. Management told me however they are planning to build a completely new block for the Spa so I look forward to seeing that, (there is also two beds by the beach for massages but I prefer indoors as not to get bit by bugs). Lomani is down the very end of the island so there are bikes available if you wish to go see the neighbouring resorts (Musket & Plantation) they will also drop you off in their cart which is such a lovely service. Fiji offers a plethora of resorts and we have stayed at many of them, but Lomani really has touched our hearts. It offers what we look for..luxury, relaxation, (no kids) activities if we wish, great food and service. We will be back!

Its difficult to explain just how beautiful this resort and the staff are.

As an adults only resort with only 33 rooms it is first and foremost intimate.

When my wife and I first arrived we we immediately greeted like we were long lost friends. This amazing friendliness of staff was exhibited multiple times during our stay and they seem to be able to do this and at the same time not be too intrusive.

The rooms (burres) were well appointed and all had amazing beach views.
Sunset looked like someone had produced an amazing painting just outside our doors overlooking the beach.

The food was very good and the only slight negative I can find of our whole stay is that we had worked our way through the menu in the 9 days we stayed and were starting to reorder meals. Having said that the staff and chef were more than willing to make changes to the meals to cater various requests.

Snorkelling was brilliant with 6 or more reefs that they chose from to take you too each day. Boat rides, snorkelling gear was all included FOC.

Shelly was the Resort manager who had only arrived 5 days before our stay. Her response to any comment ensured that things simply got fixed .... amazing.

To add even more to our stay, we were SO relaxed when we left that we left our passports in our room. After arriving at the airport and noticing the loss, Shelly and her staff made the 45 min boat ride and 10 min taxi ride to get the passports to us before the plane left. AMAZING

Simply put - one of the best places I have stayed in my 66 years of travels.

Wow, just wow! This place is paradise and if you come away from here without a huge smile on your smile it would be amazing. The resort is limited to around 100 adults and there were never more than 50 whilst we were there. Every single person that we spoke to loved the place.
Set in idealic conditions only metres from the beach with an amazing pool, beautiful swimmable beach that has an abundance of coral only 50m out. Every beachfront bure has its own deck, chairs and a lawn with sunbaking lounges that are 20m from the beach.
The rooms are basic but incredibly comfortable, three litres of water is supplied every day with really good bathroom products. The bed is very comfortable and it is sooooo quiet a good nights sleep is inevitable.
Every single staff member wants to look after you and make sure you have an awesome time. Lots of free activities although spending time just lazing about around the pool or beach reading a book is the best way to pass time.
The island is only 45 minutes from Port Denarau so you can arrive by plane and easily be there within 2-3 hours. Taxi from the airport if FJD$45.

Paradise Found
We have just had the most marvellous, perfect stay at the adults only Lomani Resort. We had a beachfront Bure with a comfortable bed, made up with luxury linens, large deck and plunge pool, which was a definite bonus on a hot day. Our room was attractive, spacious and had stunning views. There was a group of us staying at the resort and all of the rooms were equally beautiful and well appointed. Everyone was impressed with the tranquility and relaxed atmosphere. The pool and dining area is serene, inviting and as it is a small resort there are plenty of quiet places to relax. We especially liked the poolside cabanas and the day lounges, near the pristine white sand beach and warm crystal clear water. The grounds are well maintained and attractive. We did most of the included activities, which were really excellent, especially the reef snorkelling. The resort is definitely 5 star, but what lifts it to the next level are the wonderful staff. They are friendly, attentive, helpful and go out of their way to learn your names and make you feel special. We were there for my birthday and Ronald and his team did an amazing job to make my celebration evening for our group memorable. The set up and service was outstanding and the Fijian buffet meal delicious. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a perfect night. A special mention for Tevita who was our singer, he has a beautiful voice and even did requests, which he learnt especially for the occasion. Shelly the general manager runs this place in an extremely professional manner and is also very approachable and helpful.
If you are going to Fiji and you want to experience paradise you need to stay at this outstanding resort. We were sad to leave and will definitely return

An adults only paradise! Our 5 night stay here was amazing. Beautiful resort, stunning bures on the beach with your own plunge pool and awesome outdoor shower. The main pool area is great with plenty of comfy day beds and lounges, staff are attentive, and the food was of a high standard. I’d recommend shopping at the grocery store at Denarau Marina before boarding your transfer to grab some snacks & drinks for your Bure as there’s no convenience store at Lomani. They do offer push bikes to explore around the island and check out the other two resorts there (Plantation & Musket Cove) We had lunch at Plantation Island Resort and couldn’t wait to get back to Lomani (too many screaming kids for us and the service/ standard of food just didn’t compare) There is a well stocked grocery store at Musket Cove Resort but it is a bit of a hike (bike ride to the airstrip then you have to walk the rest of the way). Massages on the beach were great, we didn’t try the day spa as we much preferred listening to the waves but I did hear that it’s due for a revamp (the rest of the resort has just had millions spent on refurbishment). The only little improvement needed is the gym. Very limited equipment, no treadmill and only 1 dumbbell. There’s daily free activities, highly recommend the snorkelling trips. We did go out to Cloud 9 one day, but found it was very overrated, dirty, run down and not what you see online. Will try 7th Heaven next trip. Overall highly recommend Lomani Resort and we will definitely be back.

Hey - Yep you can snorkel right off the beach. Best times are from mid to high tide. It stretches out a fair distance - and the reef is about 100 meters from shore. The daily boat trip takes you out to a sand bar and beyond. Cheers.
