Beachcomber Island Resort is celebrated for its diverse amenities, including idyllic beachfront bungalows and exciting snorkeling opportunities, though some guests suggest an upgrade in facilities. The spacious, clean rooms with stunning views are a hit among visitors, despite their simplicity. The hotel's staff garners accolades for their warm and accommodating service, fostering a familial vibe.
While the resort's cleanliness is generally upheld, a past water issue momentarily marred its record. With an atmosphere that caters to both lively and tranquil preferences, the resort offers a versatile island experience, albeit with extra costs for certain services and amenities.

my daughter and I spent 7 nights on Beachcomber Island and at the end of them we { along with 4 other people } called ourselves " Th survivors " ! Our boat trip out to the island was in a oversized tinnie with twin motors , the water was rough and as boat was open we arrived drenched from head to toe . The island is very small but scenic Check in was quick and easy , our beachfront Bure spacious and clean with a great outlook . The all inclusive meals were plentiful but as others have said repititious and not appitising as days wore on .Salad just lettuce ,cucumber with a few tomatoes .Tinned fruit for dessert . Snorkeling was very good and just off shore , The staff deserve 5 stars as they did their best at all times ,and they bore the brunt of what was to follow on our 4 th day due to very bad management . All supplies need to be brought over from the mainland , but they have their own desalitation plant for cooking ,showers ,toliets etc and this broke down big time . So for over 3 days we could not shower ,flush toliets [ staff brought buckets of sea water every so often to pour down } and the situation was becoming worse as the days wore on .There wa still aprox 50 people arriving for days trips and new guests who had no idea what it was like .Up to 25 guests checked out with no refund and told to claim on travel insurance .Management told us nothing and avoided us and the problem just put signs up and info was from staff and other guests ,It was becoming a nightmare and unsanitary as you can imaaine in the heat , Realise it wasn,t managers fault that there was no water but he handles situation very badly The day before we left the Manager left the island ,not sure if it was his choice and the new manager was just what we and the staff need ,That was " Island Muma " as she called herself , gave us all the info we needed plus we did get water for a few hours but the desal ,plant still needed more work so off again . This lady lifted the spirits of staff and guests and we even got free drinks , So our holiday was bitter/sweet . If ever I went back it would only be for 3 days as think thats enough time there

Bula! I just got back from a 10 day stay on Beachcomber Island. I had one of their beach front bungalows and had the most amazing time. I went there to recover from work, to relax, snorkel and enjoy the beautiful weather. First, I was slightly worried because it's called the party island, but the music is only at the bar area and doesn't affect the accommodation area. In the end, it was nice being able to choose between isolating at the beach further away from the bar and socialising over drinks and music in the evening. The island gives you a feeling of coziness and welcoming vibe compared to other more sophisticated islands which I really liked. The Team was absolutely amazing!! Everyone was extremely thoughtful and always around for anything I, and/or the other guests, needed. Vinaka again, everybody!! Yes, bottled water needs to be purchased, but I understand it can't be free of charge as they need to buy it from the main land as well. Over meals, there's fresh water from their filter system, which doesn't taste like bottled water but is totally fine. I drank it for 10 days ;) There's always plenty of different food options for meals, although maybe a little hard for vegetarians as everywhere on the islands. But you can ask for vegetarian options and they will try to come up with something nice for you. If you like snorkelling, I recommend bringing your own mask and snorkel so you're ready to go whenever you like. The best snorkelling spot is around the nearby sandbank, which can be reached by kajak (on hire on the island) during low tide. Crystal clear water and lots of colourful corals. I only snorkel but I saw other guests book diving activities. Day trips to surrounding resorts and snorkel spots can be booked also at the reception(minimum 4 people). I will definitely go back when another time out needed, or just to enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the island again!

Bula! Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're so happy to hear that your 10-day stay at Beachcomber Island was a memorable one. It’s great to know that our beachfront bungalows provided the perfect setting for you to relax and recharge. We're glad you found the balance between the peaceful areas and the lively bar enjoyable—it’s all about giving our guests the choice to experience the island in their own way! Our team will be thrilled to hear your kind words. They truly strive to create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and it's great to know that it made your stay special. Thank you also for your thoughtful comments on the bottled water and meal options. We always aim to accommodate all dietary preferences, and we're happy to hear you were well taken care of. Your snorkeling tip is fantastic, and we hope future guests enjoy the stunning underwater sights around the sandbank as much as you did! We can’t wait to welcome you back for another relaxing escape and to share more friendly moments with you. Vinaka vaka levu for your kind feedback! Warm regards, Beachcomber Island Resort

Would not recommend. Spend a bit more money to get the experience that you are advertised to get (i.e. running water, activities, fun atmosphere). We were booked to stay 2 nights and left after 1 night.
Costs to be aware of regardless of booking with them or 3rd party: - island transfer - $240 per person if you make the one scheduled transfer per day, $440 per person if you do not (not included in your price and no other option) - buffet for 1 hour - $35 for lunch and $45 for dinner (per person, per day) - cocktail $28, beer $15, RTD $20 - bag of chips $15
Recommend using third party - we had no water in our room and were told by the new owner that “they are still working on it”. Didn’t offer discount, but we were able to get our money back through third party. Also, you can get them to price match with the resort anyway.
The resort is also under construction. The activities on the website are not happening - snorkeling available for a fee, but that’s it. If you do decide to book and have a fridge in the room, bring your own food/drinks.

First stayed here about 14 years ago, for a week before heading to mana Island, and came back again. Plenty of activities to do either by yourself or join groups and have social interaction. Water is crystal clear, heaps of aquatic life and some great dive sites not far away. I believe there are new people taking over the island and have plans for great improvements, so keep an eye on the newer reviews for more updated info.

I stayed for 5 nights over the New Year period. The stay was pleasant and the room had a wonderful air conditioner. The resort offers snorkelling and fish feeding. The place is under new management so I imagine this place will only get better. My only fault is the food - some nights the dinner was good, other nights it wasn’t enjoyable. Hit or miss and was a bit like camp food. However, I have been told they are putting money into improving this. The island is gorgeous and housekeeping was very good. The cocktails and drinks were more expensive than on the mainland but I imagine they need to pay for transport - the cost was similar to Australia and was not unreasonable. They had day trips from Beachcomber to Cloud 9 and the Malamala beach club. Everything was well organised and ran smoothly. The best thing was definitely the beach, which is clean and well-maintained. The island has natural beauty. It is a good option if you don’t need a fancy resort like the Sheraton or Hilton and just want to unwind. Overall it was a great experience.

My granddaughter (14) and I spent 5 wonderful nights at Beachcomber Island. New owners are busy renovating and we can't wait to return next year to see all of the upgrades and improvements. The staff are simply the best! So warm and friendly. Big shout out to Ato, Una, Emma and everyone else whose names I do not remember. The food was plentiful, delicious and great variety. With breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets plus morning and afternoon tea, with cakes and biscuits, don't expect to lose weight. Beach was lovely and the water was an incredible colour and so very clear. Sand was hot but we had brought special jiffies to wear on sand and in the water ( souvenirs from Atlantis in Dubai). The snorkelling at the reef ( two trips there a day) was great. No need for any shoes as all floors are sand apart from in our bure! Great place for a relaxing holiday. Thanks Beachcomber...see you next year!

We did a day trip to Beachcomber Island. Everything including our travel to the island, and food and drinks was included in our package, and I thought it was great value for money. It was a bit of a windy day so the water was a bit choppy, however, the highlight of my day was the fish feeding and snorkelling - I absolutely loved every minute of it, and would love to do it again. The island itself is absolutely tiny but beautiful, you can walk around the whole island in about 10 minutes. I can’t comment on the accommodation because we didn’t stay the night but the food was ok. The only thing I didn’t love about the island was how loud the music is by the bar/restaurant BUT I was quite tired and sunburned from the previous days I already spent in Fiji so this may have factored in, I usually love music.

Loved our stay! The staff is amazing - they always greet you with their warm “bula” meaning hi or welcome, they are always smiling and makes an effort to remember your name. We had many fantastic conversations ranging from the big question to the small. The location is ideal for any trips as the trip from Nadi is short. They arrange snorkeling, volleyball and traditional Fijian dance everyday for free. The reef and beach is amazing. We stayed in one of their Oceanfront Bungalows (Bure) which was absolutely amazing. The food (especially the fish) is delicious.

If you would like to sit on a beach for a couple of days the facilities are basic but ok. It’s a small island with lots of coral on beach so take walking shoes. Food isn’t great main issue being no salad or fresh fruit. The reason for the one star: our return journey on the 11 am boat was horrendous. It was only us and another couple a tiny boat with 2 big motors and the guy wasn’t the usual friendly Fijian. No live vests were offfered or shown to us and he had the boat on full throatle all the way. There was nothing to hang onto I felt like we could get flipped out any moment. My partner is a boatie with many years experience and he was scared too. The guy even went wondering to the front of the boat leaving the controls. When we arrived we were not in Denaru but at the airport where we had to board a bus which put an extra half hour on the journey. No one bothered to tell us before we left we wouldn’t be getting a boat back. Safety is very lax the fish feeding and snorkeling boat is very difficult to get back onto one girl had her brand new bikini shredded and I have a big bruise on my arm from the guy hauling me in. The boat driver should be sacked he is dangerous!

"Their boat lands you on beach, but uncomfortable or cancelled in rough weather. South Seas larger, more stable & cheaper, but have to transfer to small boat at Island."
