Called the hotel because I was going to be late checking in, friendly staff had key and directions to our room waiting for us. Beautiful room and super cozy bed was welcomed after a long road trip. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order depending upon each guests dietary preferences. We will definitely be back !

The breakfast is worth the stay, and the charming room and amazing building are added bonuses. Don't let the view on the map (in the circle of the I-10 exit) scare you off, the neighborhood is a charming step back into Mobile history. The future plans for the area will make it an even better oasis in the city. We...

The Fort Conde Inn was fantastic! The room was beautiful - old-fashioned in look, but comfortable and modern in amenities. The included breakfast was absolutely delicious. Everyone who worked there was friendly, and it's an easy walk from downtown Mobile!

We couldn't have been more pleased with our first time stay in this adorable Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the luxury room called the Rachel. The king size bed was so comfortable and the linens were fresh, clean and felt luxurious. The Keurig coffee machine and bottled water were such a nice touch. The.L'Occitane toiletries were exquisite! To top...

I can't imagine there could have been a better place to stay in Mobile. It was like a step back into the past. There is a small 2 or 3 block area with beautifully restored Victorian homes in a quiet setting. The owners and staff are very friendly and will make you feel right at home. In the morning when...

There is no better location for Mardi Gras in Mobile than Ft. Conde Inn. It is quiet, respectful and absolutely beautiful. The staff was 100% attentive to whatever question or concern was posed, going beyond what was expected. Robbie the chef prepared an exquisite breakfast that was very much appreciated, and even prepared a china plated to go order for...

Beautifully restored historic building within walking distance of most of downtown. Close to the civic center, but tucked away in historic neighborhood. Has the "feel" of old Mobile. Rooms are large and well appointed. A gourmet breakfast is included.

We stayed two nights, Sunday and Monday, in the Margaret Suite. While a nice room, we were awoken at 6:30 each morning by a loud noise that turned out to be the exhaust fan from the kitchen right below the room. So much for sleeping late. We were out all day Monday touring and returned to find that no room...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Fort Conde Inn, Alabama's only 4-star, AAA four diamond rated boutique hotel and bed and breakfast, is a luxurious facility exuding the style and feel of nineteenth century Mobile. Requiring two years of meticulous workmanship, the Inn has now been restored to its original Victorian splendor. Built in 1836, the Fort Conde Inn (Hall-Ford House) is Mobile’s second oldest house and its interior and exterior finishes reflect its architectural vintage from original heart pine flooring and custom-milled stairways, moldings, and window and door trim to marble fireplace mantles, plaster walls, 12 foot ceilings and crystal chandeliers. The Fort Conde Inn, located in Mobile's historic Fort Conde Village, has recently expanded to include four newly restored hisorically certified homes: The Antunez House, the Spear-Barter House, as well as the Blakely and Gonzalez cottages. Walking into the Inn today, is like taking a step back in time to when these homes were originally built. The Inn sits on a quiet street in Fort Conde Village surrounded by Victorian homes restored with integrity and respect for their architectural heritage. It is situated adjacent to Fort Conde, a pre-revolutionary war fort built by the French in 1720 and named after the Prince of Conde, a grandson of Luis XIV. Mobile was founded by the French and the fort protected Mobile from incursions by the British. In recognition of the French heritage of this land, the rooms at the Inn have been named in French after friends and family members of the owner. ... more   less
