Stayed here for 7 nights in room number 4. Very noisy due to road directly outside, fan is not very good and make sure that you close the shutters at night as the light from the street lampost shines in. Bed was comfy and room was nice and spacious.

Go there only for drinks at night. The reception is where the cafe is but the rooms are in a different building. Stayed in the dorm, which had the window right above the main road so it was noisy, the room had no door, the beds were uncomfy and dirty, the bathroom and showers seem like no one cleaned them...

My stay at this hostel was a bit mixed. The dorm room and the common room seemed nice and clean. The facilities are a bit lacking, could use some renewal/repairs. But the main thing I found that this place was empty. So many rooms and no fellow travellers to meet. Okay 1 or 2, but for the first day I...

We spent a long time looking for local Paranakan food, here we found it: Chicken (the best), Shrimps, Ladyfingers like nowhere else!!! Simple presentation, plastic chairs, but food wise the clear winner of the weekend

We originally booked a twin room upstairs, the owner john allowed us to stay in one downstairs with a private bathroom which was so lovely of him. He is such a great host, and the cafe is great to hang out in after a day out in Malacca. Great location as well. The room was so cheap for what it...

This place is a great example of the type of place that l don't go to: its view is of a trafficated crossing, there's karaoke, and their decoration include small cars sawn in two. Its cheesy. But it just happens to be located 50 m from our apartment and they do happy hour in a town where alcohol isn't abundant....

Well what can we say that we haven't said before in previous review for the Discovery Café. Year after year we keep returning here. The welcome is always warm. Great place to hang out and meet people, its the people who really make the place, the staff and regulars are now very good friends. It really is our second home...

We went there around noon to by bus ticket + taxi for the next day. The guy explained us everything and seemed serious and honest (he told us the true price of the ticket + the extra 7 RM that he takes). We were told to come back at 5 pm to collect our tickets, but they didn't buy them...

Great place to chill during the day. Classic rock and a constant breeze equal an awesome vibe in a cool setting. The local dishes are very good and a decent size. The staff are friendly and efficient. The Guest House also resells bus tickets if you are looking for a bit of convenience.
