very nice campground. Great location! Walmart is about 10 minutes away, and so is the heart of Gulf shores. The beach is about a 5 minute car ride or if you have bikes you could ride there easily. Bath houses are very clean and conveniently located. Large pool was nice when you are ready for a break from the beach....

Gulf State Park was the first campground we stayed at as we transitioned into fulltime camping life. The park is located very close to white sandy beaches. The spots where close together, but not packed like sardines. They offer a variety of options, many with premium prices. Our stay was during the off season and we received a discounted rate....

We have always stayed in a condo, hotel/motel when we visit Gulf Shores. This time we chose to stay in a cabin at the State Park. It was absolutely awesome. It is very quiet and peaceful. The price was very reasonable especially including the annuities that you get in the State Park. We also had a pet friendly cabin. Plus...

This was our first time camping and it was wonderful! The other campers were sooo friendly and helpful. The bath houses are large and ultra clean. The sites are well maintained and there are plenty of things to do. The beach is beautiful and there bathrooms and showers right on the beach so you don't have to drag the sand...

We stayed 7 nights at the camp ground. It was our frist wk long trip since we are new to camping. I ask to be on the water and was told staying on gater rd.would put us right on the water. Not so! We had about a 2ft view of the water from our sight, and could not get to the...

A huge full service facility that is well maintained. Great for adults and kids alike. Great access to beach, concerts, restaurants and other activities. Spaces are large despite to huge size of this park. One night or a month it's well worth the trip. This one did not disappoint.

This is our third year visiting Gulf State Park. This is our family's big vacation each year and we start looking forward to next year the moment we leave for home. It is a beautiful park with plenty to do. Hiking and bike trails. Pools. Splash pad for the kiddies. Nature center. Short bike ride to the beach. Hard to...

We went to a wedding at the pavilion at the park, and it was a great venue for a wedding. With the ocean in the background and being on the sand it is a great place for a wedding for a beach lover. Also went to the pier while we there and got great views of the ocean with sharks,...

This is an excellent place to bring your family for a vacation. We Love it here. You are less than 2 miles from beach, you have your private doc, if you stay in one of the cabins on Lake Shelby. They are beautiful. We prefer the cabins in the woods. So peaceful. Love the fishing at the State Pier!!!! All...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Approximately 1.5 miles from the white sands of the gulf beaches, Gulf State Park offers a 496-site improved campground including 11 modern bathhouses, pull-thru sites, back-in sites, water front campsites, and ADA accessible sites. Tents are also welcome in our campground. Great for spending time with family and friends, all camping pads are paved and big enough for large RVs with pullouts. All sites have water, sewer and electricity (20, 30, and 50 amp), a picnic table, and pedestal grill. There are laundry facilities and recycling bins located beside the Campstore to accommodate our guests. There are two playgrounds located in the campground. Gulf State Park offers very limited WiFi service and cannot guarantee service. New to Gulf State Park are 11 brand new primitive camping sites that include stone campfire rings, grill tops, and picnic tables. These new sites are nestled among the trees and on the creek, and include access to the bathhouses, playgrounds, and laundry facilities. ... more   less
