The hotels in Recife all seem to be pretty utilitarian, and Hotel Manibu Recife is no exception, but it offers very good value compared to some other hotels that are quite similar. For $50 USD a night my room was clean and functional, with a small view of the ocean through some buildings. The lobby is nicely decorated but the attached restaurant is drab. The rooftop pool area has a nice view but is rather small. The point of all these qualified statements that I am making is that basically, for $50 a night you are getting a clean room with a utilitarian bathroom and shower, which is a pretty good deal for the area. My room at the Radisson was basically the same (minus the balcony at the Radisson) but cost twice as much. Some high points to the Hotel Manibu are that the front desk clerk spoke excellent English, and there is a good restaurant called Entre Amigos on the beach in close walking distance. A low point of this hotel is that I did not see any other restaurants open in close walking distance (others have said there are some, but I walked around and didn't see anything open besides Entre Amigos). Anyway, if you don't want to pay top dollar for a hotel on the seafront this is a very reasonable choice.…
The facility is quite old and rooms are inconsistent. Shower has a gap and made bathroom all wet, cable was not properly connected and ar conditioning kind of loud. I did not have the chance to have breakfast (which is included) and have not seen the pool area. The surprise was a littl note with a small piece of handcraft that made the stay more human.
Recife is not exactly my favorite place to go, but can be inevitable, so here we go... This hotel is a good place to take the family. Clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff, parking available (25 RS/night), very good breakfast buffet. Good gym, sauna, a pool and overall updated. Showers are warm, not hot! They have a newer and an older part of the building, one with ocean view, the other one with a view of the wall and A/Cs. We still prefered the one without a view because of the bed arrangements and the size. Didn't come there to see the beach anyhow. Most of Recife's hotels are expensive (for Brazil) and generally not very nice, but we were pleasantly surprised with this one since we were on a budget. Beware of Recife's reputation for sexual trafficking and violence issues in general. Eating at the hotel's restaurant or order in at night instead of going out is not a bad idea unless you know exactly where you are going. We asked if walking at the beach was okay, and two separate locals told us it may be risky. Oh, and if you are scared of shark attacks, this is not your city. They are not very frequent, but they do happen. If you want to actually enjoy the beautiful coastline, drive an hour or so south or north to find a nicer spot.…
Stayed one night, very comfortable room, clean and value for money. Breakfast was good. Location is close to beach and suitable for family; and many good restaurants and clubs in the nearby walking distance.
Although this hotel is not on the first sea front row, there is a sea view from the pool and is very accessible to all najor restaurants and shopping malls either by taxi or Uber. Breakfast was really nice.
