Extremely disappointed with the property. Room was not clean and very worn. It was only an overnight stay, more than that I would have moved. It is a budget hotel but have been to better and sadly would never chose this property again. Not sure why Lonely Planet recommends which is why I chose here. Lesson learned.

Awesome place to stay for short or long term stay in Calcutta. Very reasonable, clean and with high security with CCTV cameras. Great location, Kyd street parallel to Park Street, happening place in Kolkata. Have a look at pics that I shared. One gets nice bed with individual fan and light, located on head top plus a mattress. They have... More

This is one of the worst hotel I have ever been to. The bed sheet had oil and other marks - extremely dirty. The bed was also very hard. The room was extremely small. All the furniture is of 1800s. It's more like a lodge. There are far better hotels one can get on this price.

A very Basic hotel....Kolkata's first dormitory room..No breakfast....the only good thing about this hotel is the location. Kolkata's night life is just infront of you. New market is 3~4 min walking....lots of street food nearby...

I stayed one night in this hotel, in the male dormitory. Lockers (though you have to bring your own lock), free wifi, beds are tidy and well arranged so the movement in the lower bed doesnt reach the upper and viceversa. Shared bathroom with some showers and WC, they were periodically cleaned overnight. Security guard at the door. Lower beds... More

Hotel has good rooms but I expect more neatness and cleanliness. Hotel's floor distribution is kinda confusing. But I get helped from receptions and they dropped me in the NSCBIA at 4:30 am at exact time. This is a good point I would say for them.

I didn't actually stay in this hotel because the guy at reception told me the dorm was only for men.Since I had already paid he said I could put that money towards a private room, which cost for times as much as the dorm. I couldn't afford it so I asked for a refund. He refused and told me to... More

This place has been given a lot of slack in the reviews on here. Whilst I was apprehensive, I took the plunge and booked a few nights in the dormitory. I read Kolkata was renowned for ultra nasty, budget accommodation and so I thought I'd spend the least amount of money to see what I would get. I was pleasantly... More

When I visited all the rooms were booked and I was forced to stay in the dormitory. Initially I was little scared to stay in the dormitory as I never stayed in a dorm with so many unknown people. The dormitory was big, and I guess it can accommodate at least 20 people. It was really cheap only at Rs.350/night.... More

Huge rooms with tv and ac make this hotel a decent bargain at Rs 1600 for single person. Paper under the door in the morning, in-house cooking and laundry is a plus. Assiduously cleaned, beware of rooms next to kitchen since room service phone would be an irritant.
