We spent a Sunday night at Itachuna Rajbari in Hoogly district, West Bengal. The zamindar's mansion is called a Rajbari and the building is a very impressive red brick mansion with an imposing facade and Thakurdalan. But it is best to think of it as a comfortable homestay in an old mansion in rural surroundings, reliving the life of a...

Fantastic experience with good food. The staff was well manoured. The conducted tour inside the Raajbari was quite attractive but the guide seemed a bit uncooperative. We were late by 5 mins & the guide was not willing to repeat what he said. The checkout time was 10 am & several reminder started from 9am. This we found a bit...

The whole estate or "zamindari" is spread over 20 bighas and the building covers around 10 bighas out the of the same. Brick red and faded yellow colored walls will tell you that this place have had a glorious past. But then that jadedness is the charm of "itachuna Rajbari". As narrated by the guide the owners were originally "Burghes...

Stayed at Itachuna Rajbari over the weekend. It was definitely a good experience as we stayed at a place which is 250 years old. Property was good and well maintained. Slightly overpriced. Toiletries provided was not adequate. The food spread though was wide but the taste was average. We stayed in " Chorda" room. The room had a private terrace...

Located only 50 km ( 2.5 hours drive) from Kolkata, this old Zaminder Bari, known earlier as Khanyan Rajbari turned now into a heritage hotel offers you a taste of vintage rural bengal and traditional 19th century Zaminder hospitality. There are two types of staying options. You can stay in the rooms housed in the main building or you can...

This heritage location is transformed into a hotel. Its a pleasant and peaceful place to enjoy weekends, far from monotonous noisy city life. A big property with garden, pond, cottage, big rooms, courtyard and very good people. Each and every member working there are helpful and are ready to attend to the visitor's concerns. Food is awesome. A local guide...

Its a shame, that even though I belong from Kolkata, I found this Rajbari from the Net. We booked a room this weekend through Flying Squirrel Holidays. The rooms are interestingly named and we stayed in Ginni Ma Room which had a beautiful heritage charm to it. The hospitality is wonderful, even though winter weekends are always full and brimming....

Worst place I have ever visited. The place is too much over hyped & worst staff (on behavioral background....the authority must teach them how to behave wid the guest at 1st)...the rooms are just ok but over priced. The food is normal.

I recently visited Itachuna Rajbari for the first time with family and friends. We booked 3 rooms at the Ground Floor (opposite the dining hall). Surprisingly, though Ginni Maa is much bigger and better than Boro Maa and Mejo Maa, they charge the same tariff for each of these 3 rooms at the Ground Floor. The Rajbari is not very...
