We had gone as a family back in 2008, it was an amazing place. Food was included in our hotel cost, and i must say they have excellent food. Such variety and new cuisines they serve. We loved the food. The place is very well kept and nice.

I had long dreamed about staying at the Windamere - my mother was born in Darjeeling 80 years ago and so finally I made it to the town and to the hotel that had figured so large in our lives. I had been warned not to expect luxury but what I actually got was far, far superior to that. It...

Charming setting and delightful chintzy rooms with fires lit in rooms in evening and hot water bottles in beds. However, charm only goes so far and much more attention needs to be given to quality of food and service. It was chilly at night when we were there but dining room and bar were not kept warm enough, although our...

Although we welcome any feedback, we find this review rather confusing. Here are are comments. The comments regarding the heat in our Dining Room & Bar were not given to us. However, we would like to state that we provide 4 x oil charged radiators which are standard amenities in a lot of hotels in our region, + a roaring...

We had a great stay at this quirky hotel. The rooms were well appointed....the one we stayed in had a fireplace, and hot water bottles were put in the bed in the evening. The fire gave added warmth and it was homely to come back to after dinner in the evening. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful. Food was...

Waking in a hotel can sometimes be the same in any country. This was so different so atmospheric with every attention to detail. All mod cons with the feeling of the raj. Not to be missed ! Candlelit dining, fabulous food although a set menu with five courses easy to choose and wonderful service. Loved the open fires even in...

After a 4 hour drive from Bagdogra airport, mainly dodging people and trucks celebrating the feast of Saraswati, we arrived at this relic of the Raj, I thought I was on the set of Indian Summers. Loved the experience. Comfortable, welcoming. The dining room serves a set meal to everybody so no choice but was good. Also sighted the Himalayas,...

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and had an amazing time. The room was excellent, the staff a joy to be with, and the management as helpful as can be. We had a problem with a broken suitcase and the management went out of their way to help us find another with the aid of our guide....

My wife and I travelled with my daughter's in-laws. We really did not know what to expect as my research had been done only through Tripadvisor and so was unaware of the layout of the whole property. Our flight was late and so we arrived later than expected around 9pm. It was quite cold but we were given a warm...

The hotel is a wonderful property from the good ol' colonial days and has been painstakingly maintained. It is located very conveniently beside the mall and has a great view of the mountains and hence appropriately priced. No complaints in the quality department but I have a bone to pick when it comes to the staff. They are very ill...
