jore pokhari is a place located on the way to Darjeeling to MIrik. You have to take a little diversion to reach this place. taxi driver will ask for more money to take this diversion. There are 2 small man made ponds which they call it as lake.It is a disappointment for us after reading so much about this place. The natural...

the place is awesome. surrounded by the forest of tall pyne trees. a good place to relax. tourist lodge is also good. one can book it from GTA head quarter, Saltlake, just beside City Centre. Lakes are small and artificially decorated. it is actually on the hill top. thus one can enjoy the surrounding nature just by sitting in a...

This property is not for every traveler. If you want to spend time with nature and yourself stay at least for 2 nights. I have stayed on the old wing suite room and really had a great experience. The room was huge with fireplace facilities, separate dining, sitting area. The bedroom was quite big and the bed was comfortable. Need...

Being there during monsoons we could not see the peaks, but really enjoyed the serenity of the forest on way to Jorepokhri. And we were also lucky to see the salamander in the lake. There is also a small ancient temple which is not so well maintained. Not sure of the absoluteness, heard from our driver that since last couple...

We went there in 2007 October. That time it was under DGHC (Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Counsil) . At that time there were only 4 rooms available, but those were VIP rooms only, with a huge room, fire-place and a lounge. One night cost was Rs 5,000 at that time for these rooms. At the back side of this, there was...

This place is full of scenic beauty - from one side you can look into the valley and another side you can enjoy the natural serenity. Though the place is isolated from township, but amidst nature you will not realize how you spent time. It is good to stay for one night.

The tourist lodge is a premium property. You can enjoy absolute tranquility in the lap of nature. The stuffs were helpful and very polite. BUT the lodge runs on generator as the WB State Electricity Board has cut power for not paying due bills. There is provision of candle though. But you can get no light from 9 PM to...

Jorepokhri Tourist Lodge is run by Gorkha council and the booking can be done through any Gorkha council office of SIliguri, Darjeeling or kolkata. The place is between Mirik and Lepchajagat. It's better to stay there before visiting Lepchajagat. The distance from Mirik is about 1.5-2 hours and from Lepchajagat, it is 20-30 minutes.. The tourist lodge is inside "Jorepokhri"...

End of September 2013...no way an ideal time for a getaway in the hills. Still we chanced upon the place, courtesy one of our best friends and a localite (Sukhiyapokhari) by herself. I love mountains but being unbiased let me be candid enough to state that this place is quite truely "a misty abode of natural splendor". Away from the...
