This hotel is in a great location of JUHU in Mumbai. We are here for a family situation and hence needed a peaceful hotel. When we reached here we were delighted. Rooms are very clean and equipped perfectly. We took the ocean facing rooms on the fourth floor- as perfect as one can get! Since we are here in between a grave pandemic situation, we decided to stick to hotel food and ordered pretty much most dinners - breakfast was included- we ordered lunch too one of the days. Tonight - 10th April 2021 I ordered a small child portion of khichdi (Indian savoury porridge). The man taking the order (Abhishek) decided to speak rudely and said we don’t have small portions ( strange as all hotels - specially five star have child portions ) Now considering we have been ordering regularly, staying this long - also paid most of the stay money in cash, didn’t understand the idea of abrupt behaviour by Abhishek. I asked him why did he send a full adult portion ( as the others had ordered separate food) he said we have one portion and had informed me of the same. I just mentioned that you should’ve called and mentioned you are sending one full portion ( I could’ve changed the order or said okay), he now almost lost his temper and said “I Already mentioned”. Following which I asked him to make his manager speak with me, ( I’ve worked with hotel industry for 15 years internationally so I know the routine ) Abhishek called again and asked for the name of the person who had mentioned a certain rate of khichdi to us, and only then the manager will speak to me. I told him I wanted to speak with the manager. The manager Prashant called and I explained that my Grandfather- Prime Minister of India - Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri actually made the entire country fast so poor people could eat regular meals. It’s not the money which bothered me , it’s the thought that Abhishek thought it was okay to waste food!!!! Shameless that in middle of pandemic one isn’t able to think of others who are not so privileged that portion control is so important- even in five star hotels. He didn’t even suggest alternatives which could’ve worked for us and 6 year old - who eats a small portion. This is why I am upset - I am not okay with wasting I am not okay that small portions are not available for children. Unheard of in these times and era. Please also let me thank Irfan - staff at breakfast duty who is absolutely amazing and goes out of his way to help us- we orders eggless pan cakes and he asked the chef who confirmed that it could be done. One lady at reception - sorry I don’t know her name- is also amazing with her hospitality skills. Pretty much most of the staff except Abhishek at room service was extremely helpful and friendly. Don’t spoil customer experience with one guy ! Distasteful and bad experience on my last day- sigh ! Sharing some lovely pictures of the hotel. Please do book the property - if you come to Mumbai - it’s just one staff member else everything is perfect

I have been visiting Sun-N-Sand since the past 25 years mainly for dining. However this time around, i chose to stay at the hotel due to house shifting for 2 nights. Unfortunately, never imagined that the hotel service or in room / reception would not be at par with what it has been in the restaurants. I visited along with my 90 year old grandmother. Firstly, i would like to mention that they did oblige me by issuing a 'wheelchair accessible room' which i had already requested for and in reality it is not supposed to be a suite or any higher level of category however, they have termed the same as a junior suite. In comparison to the rates and structure of the actual junior suite, the wheel chair accessible room is no where even 10% similar. Further, wheelchair accessible room does not even have enough space for walker or wheelchair to be pushed besides the bed neither the bathroom has separators between shower and toilet area. There are ample chances of a senior citizen falling in the bathroom due to wet floor. Hence, on what grounds it has been termed and rated so is best known to the authorities. Naturally i cannot take my grandmother downstairs for every meal. As a result, i asked for a favour to provide food i order from the restaurants to my room. On that basis, they have charged in room dining service charges despite requesting and taking permission in advance.

It was great experience staying in Sun n Sand. We had a great time with delicious food and supporting staff. The beach side sitting with breathtaking view is something you can live with forever. Seaview from the room is refreshing. I will refer this property for a family visit or vacation. Amol
