Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean, excelent service, quiet, spacy room. The area looks a little scary at first sight but it´s safe, no worries. Centric, interesting places around. It worth it. Walking distance to the red fort, the Jama Masjid, many temples, metro station, in the middle of the market.

Basic room, but very clean bathroom and good airconditioning. No safe but secure lock up room with basic bed and limited linen. No bottled water provided. In the area of the markets so very busy surrounds but if you are aware, this is a great location for the hustle and bustle and near Arun Jatley Cricket Ground which is why I chose this site. Friendly check-in team and experience

I have stayed at the Tara Palace so many times that I cannot count. The staff are wonderful. The hotel is at a good distance from the noisy street and this you are assured a good night’s sleep. And the food is definitely worth eating! I will always consider the Tara Palace my home in Delhi.

Room Tip: The WiFi is a bit dodgy and there are no English TV stations on the TV. But that is not a problem.

I've stayed at this hotel at least two dozen nights in the past, favoring it for it's simple, consistent service, and great location. My first time staying since the pandemic, I can no longer recommend this hotel. A large room with a balcony view of the fort was replaced with a small closet overcrowded with furniture and with no exterior window. No AC remote was provided, so to turn the ac on or off you have to unlock the door and turn it off in the hallway. No remote was provided for the TV either. The dining hall, where breakfast was served is now being used as a storage room and breakfast had to be taken in the room. I received at least six unsolicited phone calls asking me to order food from the restaurant. I had to pay for bottled water when I arrived. Some sort of construction in the building could be heard at most hours of the day. Simple things that this hotel used to do right.

I happened upon this place while searching for a home base to do a little exploring at the tail end of a business trip. This is a textbook example of why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, with the entry-way being a narrow, dusty laneway with a laundromat and a few other businesses on it, off a noisy, chaotic market street. Inside, the staff are courteous and eager to please. My room was clean, with a basic bathroom and a sitting area with a couple of chairs. Food is available either in your room or in a rather stark-looking restaurant on the third floor and there are a reasonable number of items to choose from. Overall, I’d say that this is a good home base to take in the sights, sounds and smells of the area.

I stayed one night here and will definately return should I ever travel back to Delhi. The rooms are clean and well maintained, shower was nice and hot with a modern bathroom. Restaurant provided an excellent meal and there is a great view from the rooftop, check it out if you are staying here.

At the Tara Palace I stayed in a newly remodeled room with a balcony overlooking the Old City of Delhi. The room and bathroom were pristine. The hotel is just a few feet off a main road and down one of the lanes into the Old City, which is full of entrepreneurs and business of all sorts, including the silver market. Each doorway has its own character. Find someone to walk around with you who knows the history. The hotel is around the corner from the magnificent Red Fort, seat of the Moghul Empire. You can ask staff of the hotel to serve you dinner on the roof, from which you can see the Fort, the Jama Masjid and a Jain temple. Prices are very reasonable.

This hotel is a hidden gem. From their rooftop dining area you can see both the Rd Fort and Jama Masjid, both are in walking distance of the hotel as are the extensive markets in the area in front of the Jama Masjid. The rooms are a very good size and there's a comfy bed. Staff are very helpful and friendly. It's a bit of a circus to get to the hotel as it's in an alleyway off main bicycle chowk (where all the pedal rickshaws get fixed). It is walking distance to the myriad markets in Old Delhi and well positioned for a wander through the Spice Markets and the alleyways of Delhi. Great vegitarian menu.
